I just received this email, but I have not listed on eBay for months and when I do it is just various finds not a product.
I looked at the headers, and it seems to have come through the eBay mail system.

I saw your product, I am interested in buying it, can we use an escrow service?

Please reply ASAP as I am really interested.

Thank you for your time.

I get a couple of those a week, I just delete them. I got one recently that asked what the postage would be for standard rate. I have never heard of "standard rate" postage in the U.S. or Canada, so again I deleted. I would rather lose an occasional sale that be added to those endless email lists!

I got the same type of email last week! The text wasn't exactly the same, but similar, asking if the item was complete, in the box, and would I take escrow. No item number, but it did have the same eBay blurb at the bottom as yours.

I replied, basically stating that without an item number I have no idea what they are talking about. Never heard back. I'd be curious to find out what happens on your end.

If the sender's address is really yahoo.es it is probably an e-mail scam of some sort. ".es" is Estonia and currently a hotbed of all kinds of fraud computer and credit cards mostly.Scan it gor virii and if it's clean turn on the headers and send it to [email protected].

You might also want to see if the sender is registered with eBay.

Here is an announcement from the Ebay board. It is the second one down. This should help....

Beware of a scam going around where the buyer creates a fake escrow service complete with web site. The escrow service tells you it is okay to ship and you never get paid.

Lest the Iberians be slandered, note that .es is Spain. .ee is Estonia.
