I refuse to use Ebay's 2.0. Is there ANY way to list without using it and without paying for a bulk listing program or service???? I just can't afford them right now. I am not a Powerseller and probably never will be. I just sell online to make ends meet. Can anyone help me?????

I don't know what V2.0 looks like and I could care less. I have not listed an item directly with eBay for over 3 years (except for Ebay Motors before they were supported by AW). I pay AW to worry about things like that. Why not take advantage of their free trial? Give it a try for a couple of weeks and see what you think. If you decide to stay with it, they have a wide spread of pricing plans, and I'm sure one of them will work with your business.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I am selling things for next to nothing as it is. I can't afford more overhead. Thanks for trying

Isn't turbo lister still free? If not, I used Ebay's sales assistant basic for a couple of tries and it is only $4.95 a month.

Take a few minutes and learn the new version. There are 5 steps but usually you only need 2 or 3 of the steps and you can jump around between steps without losing any information. I never use Step 4 as it is the payment info and that always the same with me and it defaults to your last setup for this step. The format page is very easy as most sellers only use the basic auction setup anyway.

The only problem I have with the 2.0 version is that changing auction categories can be a time consuming affair as it loads a ton of info each time. They actually have pop up ads while you're listing too.

You could try sparedollar.com - it does everything AW does for $ 4.95/mo and no final value fee...also free trial. Not sure how well it works for large volumes sellers (im still trying it out) but should be great for you!

eBay's Turbolister software is free:

That's a toughie. You don't want to learn, yet you don't want to pay.

It would be cheaper to learn.

I find that v2 is actually faster than the old Sell Your Item form. I didn't like it at first, either. All that moving from screen to screen. But if your default duration and payment methods are always the same, and you list (like I do) by relisting an old auction, you need only touch screens 2 and 5.

You'll have to build an auction by scratch once using v2, but after that, you can just use the "List similar item" feature to list more.

Fluffy, I didnt say that I don't want to learn. I just didn't like what it looked like. Thanks to you and tooltimes, it sounds like it might be easier than I thought to use. Especially since my auctions are either 7 or 10 days and the payment methods almost always stay the same.

isn't turbo lister only free for a certain length of time? Or is it an ebay free service?

I use another software to build my auctions from a template I created and then list them that way. I don't think my old HTML thing will work with this. I'll have to see. I have a day off work from both jobs today so I am going to be working on it alot today.

Thanks to everyone for your help

Hi paloma91,

Sorry, I misunderstood you.

In v2, you can still use whatever HTML you were using in the Description box of the old SYI v1.

Good luck with it.

Thanks Fluffy. I just checked out turbolister too. DARN! Minimum computer requirements are windows 98. My workhorse computer is windows 95. Since I have everything on this computer, I don't want to upgrade it until I have time to backup everything on it. That will be awhile.

It's great to know I can still use my old HTML with ver 2.---> Off I go! I may be back with a question if I get stuck!

Thanks again!

I hated the 2.0 at first, but since I have used it more, I find it quite easy. I always click on "sell a similar item" at at the end, and then change the main category, and go straight to "review", and I find it much better than I expected. I decided that since it was going to be the only alternative, and I want to keep listing, I had just better learn to use it!!

I hated the 2.0 at first but now find it much better than the old version. To get around the category hassle you can find the category number you want to list your item in and simply enter that number in the box at the bottom of the page 2.

To easily find the category number that you want to use you can research your items via the ebay search engine and see where they sell best on ebay. When you see an auction that did very well and want to know which category number it is look at the URL window of your browswer and you will see something like http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1060&item=2802777283. The category number is the category=1060 part of the web address or simply 1060.

That probably as clear as mud.

I also hated 2.0 at first. Now I use eBay's
Turbo Lister (which is FREE) and relist when
needed with 2.0. It isn't as bad as I
thought... although I'd still like to know
why 2.0 can remember settings for 5 pages
but the previous version couldn't remember
settings for ONE page! :^) Good luck!
