I posted several auctions on eBay and since I have receive numerous inquiries if I would sell direct outside the auctions. Does eBay allow this? Just want to make sure eBay doesn't have people checking on these things and would hate to brake any rules. Thanks for any feedback.

No. Ebay does not allow this. It's called fee avoidance and it's about the quickest way I can think of to get booted from Ebay.

and if someone is asking you to stop the auction early and sell to them then you would probably lose in the end....those auctions usually end for more than you are being offered.

If the people contacting you have been unsuccessful bidders on a closed auction and you have another of the same item that you are willing to sell at their unsuccessful bid price, then you can make them a "Second Chance Offer" through eBay. If the offer is accepted, you do not pay any additional listing fees, just the final value fees.

Yes I got a chance to use a second offer on a $100.00 item and they accepted it. That was nice.

If the buyer contacts you the seller, then there is nothing eBay can do about it as far as you the seller is concerned. Go ahead and cut a deal with the buyer - as long as they contacted you first about buying item(s) direct and it is not about closing an auction early.

If eBay does take any punitive measures against you the seller when a prospective buyer contacts you directly, contact the FTC and then find a good law firm and sue eBay for restraint of trade, interference with a business relationship and everything and anything else a good attorney can come up with.
