I used it yesterday. It is not there today!
Does anyone know why it was removed? I found
it an excellent resource for what items I
needed to sell had previously sold for...

If you click the By Bidder or Store Search tab, the Completed Items tab will magically appear. Also, there's a completed items checkbox in the Advanced Search tab.

Thank you. Now the question is WHY THE HELL
DID THEY MOVE IT THERE! It seemed to be fine
right where it was! eBay morons... Geez!
Thanks again!

You used to be able to cut and paste an auction NUMBER in the search box at the top of every page. It doesn't work any more either.

I assume they had to "limit" the generic global search to conserve system resources and speed things up.

Now that I'm being forced to use the "Search Page" I'm starting to take advantage of some of the other options I didn't use much before. I actually am getting better results now.

Well, it appears that this feature IS gone
now. If you still know of a way to access
it please post. I looked and I do not see
it anymore! Thank you.

I've never understood all the flack here. Do a standard search for the item of question. Look in the tool bar on the left. Second link in the "display" section is Completed Items. Alakazoo - Alakazam!- your wish is granted. That will be three magic jelly beans please.

Well, I never knew that was there. I always
used the one in the Search menu at the top
of the page. Thank you for the tip, but I
still don't understand why they removed the
old way. It sure wasn't out of place. It
was right where all the other search options
were at.

It was in the old place FOREVER, then a few
weeks ago they moved it and you had to search
for it (see earlier reply in this thread)
and now it is gone and you can only access
it the way you mentioned. It almost makes
me think that eBay does NOT want people to
be able to see what items have sold for in
previous auctions. So you have X to sell
and you want to see what it has sold for in
other auctions. You think it is worth $10
but see 3 auctions that ended at $20 or more.
Why would eBay want to make this harder to
find out? A $20 sale means more fees to them. eBay baffles me again!

I never understood the confusion either. Some actually go into advanced search to look for it. People are extreme creatures of habit and if something is moved they automatically assume it is gone.

I'm still waiting for my magic jelly beans. Toasted Marshmellow flavor please.

And what exactly was wrong with using the
Advanced Search feature to look for Completed
Items. Is that not an above basic search
option, hence ADVANCED! And we are not just
talking about moved, but moved and then
disappeared!

Maybe they thought that the one that's been in the side panel for eons was more convienent , less clicks, more user friendly, easier to find, etc and that the advanced search option one was more around your elbow to get to your A&#%(@e and redundant.

zathras11, you can still do a completed search from the Advanced search. Are you saying it is gone?

I always use the side panel one as I find it easy to click back and forth between active and completed, highest prices, etc.

And now I have a craving for jelly beans.

BTW - Complete items is still in the advanced search option. Very first option under TYPE is "Completed Items Only"

I know, that's why I am wondering why some can't find it.

BTW, here's your toasted marshmallow jelly bean. Sheesh, I hope it tastes better than it looks.

YUM Kiara! You Rock! They may look a little strange but they really taste like roasted Marshmellows - horribly addicting. At Christmas they came out with Candy Canes - I love holidays

Am I wrong or lost my mind?

Ebay did remove the "Search by Item Number", right? Are you saying you can put it as the searched for item and click "completed items" and it will come up?

I tried licking the jelly bean, but I must be doing something wrong. Tastes like lukewarm glass with static dust.

Just click "search" the option to enter by item number will be in small print in the first field.

Meadow - the search for item number has bee combined with the general search - you can enter either.

The "completed Items" search is usedmore to get an idea of what an item had been selling for for the past month or so as opposed to finding a specific closed auction.

Walhalla,
Thanks. I should have just gone and tried that. Guess I was lazy today. Watched too much TV about the shuttle going down here in Texas.

Neonmania,
Thanks, I use closed auctions for pricing research quite a bit. Occasionally, I have to go loook up soem old auction I bought or sold and may not remember the exact title, but have the number. That's why I wanted to know if one could search using the number in closed auctions.

DUH!! I just went and looked and the fine print says one can enter the item number. Tried a search and it worked. Sorry for asking stupid, lazy questions.

I hate when Ebay keeps "fixing" stuff that's not broken.

Thanks,
Patty
