lol, looks like the horse didn't get enough to eat either.

I don't know but I'd be interested in finding out as they are doing resin horses like this now in different poses, all with a comical look. Seems that this one is where they got the idea from.

Might be "Gumby". That was a cartoon show. I forget what the other guy was called. Looked like a walking eraser. There was this skinny horse for a side kick.[pokey]

Just found the other one.
Gumby&Pokey

Other than that its just a strange looking horse figure.

Thanks, dadofstickboy. Maybe Spark Plug is all bony under that blanket? He looks really sad.

I think the 1940's cartoon character the antiques supplier may have been thinking of was Chuck Jones's ( Bugs Bunny, etc. at Warner Bros. ) "The Draft Horse" from a 1942 release. The imdb ( internet movie database ) at http://www.imdb.com gives this info on the cartoon.

A farm horse tries to enlist in the army, but despite his virtuoso display of wartime histrionics, he's rejected when he flunks the physical. Dejected, he wanders into a mock battlefield, which tells him what war is really like.

I can't find a picture of the old worn out nag of a horse anywhere but I think the antiques supplier may be correct.

You could maybe do better than the other seller if you wrote a good description.

If it's Spark Plug there was even a song.

Barney Google, with the goo-goo-goo-ga-ly eyes.
Barney Google had a wife three times his size
She stood Barney for divorce
Now he's living with his horse

The song about Barney Google says he was really cheap. Maybe he never fed his horse too much.

trai-Glue factory not to far from my house but far enough that we don't get the smell.
So there are more of these critters around who would of thought that. Thank goodness Ralphie can eat this week but maybe you will have to ration as it doesn't look like a big ticket item. Good Luck

ESPECIALLY, since he's such a gormandoggie!

Entree ala MightyDog served over a bed of EloquentEukanuba by candle light! Not to mention this frisky little Merlot he's become so fond of lately! I haven't the heart to tell him MoganDavid is gauche -- ah well, ignorance is bliss!
