I am planning on opening an Ebay store for items that don't sell the first or second time around.

My problem is: I have three selling ID's in order to keep all category items seperate to make it easier for buyers to shop.

When I open the store, I will want to put all items from all three into one store since I can use the category divisions there.

Anyone use multiple id's and have a store with items from all of them? Can it be done? What about post sale management? Is this even possible? Will I have to open three stores?

I don't know about multiple ebay IDs but placing items in an ebay store still involves monthly listing fees per item plus the cost of the store. Some other auction sites have stores with no monthly price per item.

Yes, but 1,000 items for $60 a month or 1,000 for $300.00 a month makes a big difference. I would only have to sell 12 items to pay for all the listings in the store. And, when they view my regular items for sale the store items will be shown with them along with a link to the store in my ads (which I can't do if using other storefronts).

The only way it would be profitable though would be to use items from all three of my seller ID's and thus the original question.

Nope, no can do.

But why not create a fourth seller id for your store?

If you've put the bulk of your auction text (including pictures) in the Description box, it's not too hard (merely tedious) to re-do your auctions under a different id.

In the early days of eBay you could relist someone else's item under your own id, but I'm guessing that got abused too much.

I buy a lot of stuff on ebay and I personally never go to any seller's store. I'm not sure how many buyers even know what the ebay stores are. I've read about many ebay sellers having success with their ebay stores and many ebay sellers having little or no success with their store.

fluffy: Good idea. I can work on that and then just copy everything over to keep track.

Robertsmithson: I never actually "go" to anyone's store either. But, when I buy one item I usually check to see if they have anything else I want to save on shipping. When you click on "view seller's other items" you get the store listings in with them. I am thinking my regular listings will actually drive people to my store listings by themselves. (or at least that is what I am hoping).

Are you saying you never buy anything anyone has listed in the store, even if they do show up on their "other listings" page?

I never purposely visit a seller's store. If I click on a see a seller's other listings and it takes me there and there is no way to tell you're in an ebay store then I guess I've been there.

What I do on items that I frequently buy is when I find a seller with good products and prices then I buy one or two items to see the qualiity of their items and how well they described them. I also check the speed and shipping charges the seller uses. If I'm very satisfied with their items and service and I then add them to my regular searchs and search for them under the sellers search function. I have several sellers that I regularly buy from.

What many sellers do is put a few items on ebay that are good sellers. Included in their EOA letters they place a clickable link to a low cost store or low cost third tier auction site that lists all of their items.

If you start a 4th ID for the store, you have to have a certain level of feedback, I think, to open the store, or be ID verified (I don't recall for sure).

But yes, if you use an auction management system of some time where you can relaunch from different IDs you'd be fine.

You can also link from any one of your auction IDs back to the store on your 4th ID to draw in traffic - auction listings are a must to draw in store traffic. Otherwise you only get your regular, repeat customers coming in, so I've found.
