How long do you normally wait to receive a response to your winning auctions? I had an auction close a week ago, have sent 3 WBN and no response. What would you do?

Also how long do you wait for payments by check? I have been waiting for over a week for payments. I have sent notification that I have not received payment and no response. What should I do?

Thanks

What does your TOS and your EOA say? You need to spell it out for buyers. Even if you say reply with your mailing address, you won't always get a reply.

Personally, a week is pretty fast for mail. My TOS and EOA state payment withing 14 days of the end of the auction. Days not business days. At day 10 they get an eBay reminder. At day 14 they get the NPB notice. And I don't usually cut any slack for sad stories.

Soince I do not take checks, this eliminates that problem. I state "payment must be received within 10 days of eos" If I have not heard anything in that length of time, out goes a NPB. If I do hear that they are sending a MO, then I cut some slack maybe another 5 days. After that I am through messing around with them. NPB & relist. By the way accoeding to the warning letter from eBay, it says 3 warnings & then suspension. Says nothing about negs. Just read one 10 minutes ago.

My auction states reply within 3 days of close of auction. Payment must be received within 10 days of close of auction.

Do I need to change this?

You have to understand that some bidders are somewhat slow to respond to your eoa notice.
Give them a few more days, say by next week, then just sent them a bidder alert. That should wake them up.[NPB]

As far as checks go, I wait up to two weeks and then email if I have not heard from them. Still no contact, then I file my NPB and relist and move on.

I find most of my bidders are pretty good as far as mailing payments go.

As far as three day tos goes, nothing is carved in stone. Would be nice, but thats life.

You know, in every group of auctions there are one or two buyers who are slooooow. Sometimes I can predict (by what they're buying and whether they're probably young men!) which ones will be slow or careless, but not always. I've never had a group of auctions the money for which all came in within the 10 days.

I do accept checks, and after 10 days if money isn't received, (assuming we've been communicating since end of auction), I e-mail and ask in a friendly way if their check is in the mail, since it's been 10 days. I do tend to cut some slack, but after 2 weeks I get a bit pushy.

If I haven't received payment in 2 weeks, I send a 2nd notice. Most of the time this takes care of it. If another week goes by, I file NPBA. Then in 10 days, if I haven't received payment, I do the FVF and neg them every time.

I found that when I stated that payment was due within a certain time frame, a lot of buyers would wait until the last minute to make that payment. Most seem to make payment faster when no time frame is given.

We will send you an email within 24 hours of auction end with payment information included.
Winning bidder must contact with name and address within 3 days of receiving our email.

- We actually give them 1 week, since that is how long we have to wait to file the NPBN.

Payment expected within 10 business days of Auction Close. Unpaid auction wins will be forfeited after 10 business days.

- again, we actually are giving them 20 days, since we wait the 10 days to file the NPBN, and then 10 days to file the FVFC

I say 7 days in my auctions. I used to say 10 days, and would send out a reminder for payment on 7, but to many griped about me sending the reminder earlier than the 10 days. I changed my terms to 7 and now no one gripes about the reminders. I actually give 12 to 14 days before I send out the Ebay Non-Pay Bidder alert, and give 30 days until I relist the item, and file a final for final value.

I used to almost never receive payments after the 30 days, but I have had a bunch of auctions in december that paid after 30 days. They of course got Negs for paying so slow, but If I still had the item I did retract there final value notice.
