I just downloaded endicia.com and am trying it out for the first time today. I printed out my first lable with free delivery confirmation, and I'm trying to print out another lable, but the DC number is exactly the same. I've only done a 'test print' so far because I don't want to print it and use the postage if it's not going to work right. I've tried deleting the bar code, and then adding it back in, but it still says the same number. Anyone know a quick fix to this so I don't have to wait for their support service?
Thanks
Amy

nevermind, I figured it out. It doesn't assign a new number until you acutally print it for real. Sorry for taking up space

The DC number will change when you print actual postage.

I never looked at the numbers on the test label I did but they are always different on the real ones. They probably just use one number on the test label so that the numbers don't get wasted. You can try turning off the postage and do a regular print,(just right click on the postage and select delete) that way it won't cost anything. Just make sure it says the postage is turned off above the postage options on the print page.

I am trying the postage from endicia for the first time and am having a HORRIBLE time figuring it out. I use stamps.com and it is very easy, but this is confusing. I have already wasted one stamp trying to get it to print out on two labels - one address and one for the postage. I figured it out, but now all it says is that it is a sample and won't print the postage. I have tried printing the sample to send in and just can't get it all figured out. I normally don't have this many problems!! Has anybody else had problems figuring this program out???

If you use the test print button you get a sample label and if you use the print button you get postage.
What kind of labels are you using? You will want to make sure the paper size matches so it prints in the correct place.

Marge -- Give us a call at 650-321-2640 x130 and we'll get you started!

Endicia is admittedly more complex than STAMPS.COM -- the program has 10+ years of features packed into it. DAZzle was first introduced in 1993 and it is the internal USPS corporate standard for all their outbound mail.

Thanks, if I can't figure it out I will call tech support tomorrow. I can't believe I can't understand it, I usually can figure these things out. The first time I printed something I only got the address label and no stamp. I did figure that out, but sure am having a heck of a time getting a label to come out with postage that doesn't say VOID!!!!

Hi, what's the story on "Premium" services like Stealth? If there is an additional charge, is it a flat fee or a subscription fee? And how much more should we expect to pay more per month? Is this partly due to the cost of credit card processing fees? I assume this is happening in March since v4.3 of Dazzle will expire then forcing us to upgrade to v4.4?

The PREMIUM service costs $14.95/month vs $9.95/month

You get: STEALTH MODE + EXPANDED EMAIL FUNCTIONS (more tags) + RETURN MAIL POSTAGE

For an extra $5, the STEALTH is worth it to me!

OK, this is probably a really dumb question but what is Stealth Mode? Also, can someone tell me the advantages of using Endiia over just using the services at the USPS site? I can print out the postage and the free DC directly at that site. What does Endicia have that I am apparently missing?

Judy:

The major advantage is when you have the Endicia account, you can just drop your packages at the counter or on the back dock without having to wait in line. The "Stealth Mode" prints the postage without displaying the actual postage amount.

"Also, can someone tell me the advantages of using Endiia over just using the services at the USPS site"

The advantage is it saves a LOT of time and doesen't crash you computer. That Java thing they use is evil.
Also you can print on almost any size label or paper with just about any printer.
You can also print any type of postage not just priority and express postage.

Endicia is great. yep like they said, you get to walk by people waiting in line, and drop 'em off. Kind p*sses some off when we do that, but... oh well (they eventually catch on that we are not cutting in front of them, not taking 'their' clerks away from them )

Thanks everyone but I do not think Endicia will work for me. Even though I print my postage online from USPS I still have to wait in line at my PO. They still have to stamp my packages and initial the special stamp they add. They told me that I cannot just drop off my packages unless they are under 1 pound and almost all of my items are over that. Thanks everyone for your input. I am jealous of all who can use Endicia and don't have to stand in line.

rnaudit1: Judy, your PO is WRONG! With ENDICIA, I am a KNOWN MAILER & can just dump off my packies -- the clerks DO NOT have to do anything to them...

EXCEPT FOR INTERNATIONAL because of the customs form.

I eliminate the INSURANCE hassle by buying PIC insurance.

ENDICIA has some PO web-links you can print out & take to the moron clerks! If that don't work, you can call ENDICIA! They have a USPS liason person who will call your POSTMASTER & light a fire under his bureaucratic butt & straighten him out as to his own rules & policies!

You can also fill out your customs forms at home and just drop them off.

It is true with stamp type postage you have to go through the line with anything over 1 lb. But with electronic (stamps.com, endicia) postage you can just drop them off no matter what the weight. This is becuase you are a known shipper.

Endicia has save me alot of time. Most of what I sell is small and under 1 pound. The boxes are small enough I can drop them in the parcel slots at the PO. I can go anytime (day or night, Sundays, holidays, etc) and mail my packages without standing in line.

from www.endicia.com

Q: How do I mail Domestic Mailpieces weighing 16 oz and over?
A: Endicia mail is treated like metered mail. Domestic mailpieces weighing 16 oz and over with Endicia postage can be deposited in any mail receptacle, handed to your mail carrier, or presented at a window of your local Post Office.

Endicia rocks, best there is, all others should close the doors & go home.

Actually domestic mail 13 oz or under can ship 1st class, over 13 oz ships Parcel Post, Priority Mail, Priority mail flat rate envelope, Media mail, Library mail or Bound material.

Still Endicia is the best of its kind on the market.

Thanks Harry, you have a great product.

I haven't tried Endicia yet, but you folks make it sound so good, I think I'll give it a whirl. But, so how is it that TomServo92 gets stealth mode for $9.95 and tomwiii pays $14.95? Is it that it's $9.95 now, but going up to $14.95 in March? Thanks!

The price is scheduled for an increase when the premium options are activated.

Here's the deal on pricing.

The standard plan has always been $9.95. The premium plan, during beta, was free to those who requested it during that time. IOW, we enabled the Premium features on all existing accounts who requested it without increasing their monthly fees.

The beta ended a few weeks ago. Those who participated in the beta get to keep the Premium features until June at the $9.95/month price. Thereafter, they will be given the option to keep these features and increase their fees to $15.95/mo OR revert back to the standard feature set and continue at $9.95.

Any new Endicia signups are presented with the two options -- standard and premium. Since you are not billed for the first 30 days, I suggest to folks who are interested in the premium features to sign up that way, try them out for 30 days, and then contact us before the 30 day trial is over IF they wish to switch back to a "regular" account.

In any event, new Endicia users are not billed until 60 days after their signup. The first 30 days is free, and we bill for the second 30 days at the end of period.
