I'm just getting back into selling items on eBay again (pre-owned clothing), and I was wondering which days are the best days to end your auctions? It used to be Sunday and Thursday nights for me, but I was wondering if that's changed. It's been several months since I've posted.

It depends on what you sell. I always use saturday and sunday but today was not good.

Depends very much on the category. I've not sold much clothing but if I wanted to make a a lot of money on it I'd seek out items similar to those I was planning to sell and see what times the bids tended to come in (discarding those placed a few seconds before auction close; they were probably set up through a sniping service.)

I end all of my auctions on Sunday night at 11:30 PM, PST. I read an article about 2 yrs ago that said more people were on the internet on weekend nights than any other time. By using this time, I am covering the continental US all evening & can see the close of my auctions beforer going to bed.

Sanmar...

You cover the whole US when you end your auctions at 11:30PM Pacific Time??...I live on the east coast and it's 2:30 in the morning when it ends!!!...You can check the end before you go to bed but we sure can't...I hear this complaint from all my friends who shop on ebay so take note of this...We all always wondered why you wesst coast sellers don't think more of the east coast buyers and end the auctions so late...A 10 PM eastern time and 7 for the west coast would satisfy both coasts...I know I could do a proxy but I avoid doing that, just don't like them, and would rather snipe it at the end...Might want to lean more toward times of the day it ends then the day itself...Just my opinion...

I've been going with Saturday Nights, about 8-9 CST and doing OK.

Used to do Sunday nights but too many crashes/downtime/bidders can't get through, so I"m trying Saturday out now.

Look at when the biggest eBay sellers end their auctions, then follow their lead.

Is Sears big enough? midnight? I say 6:30 from the West Coast. Then it's 9:30 in N.Y. Works for me.

I usually end mine at 7:00PM West coast, 10:00PM East coast on Sunday night. Been thinking about running them through the weekend and closing on Monday or Tuesday though.

I don't think Friday or Saturday nights would be too good, seems to me lots of folks would rather get out of the house after working all week.

Just my opinion.

The best day by far is the day before everyone else on eBay lists the same thing as you were selling, because they saw how great you were doing, and jumped on it.

The worst day is to be 14th in line because you jumped on something you saw some other seller doing great with.

I end mine on Sunday at 8pm PST. Since my winners are preety evvenly distrubuted across the US it seems to work. If I remember correctly from my youth as an easterner, this is just before the late news when people are starting to wrap everything up and head to bed.
