Hello...Can anyone recommend a good software solution for me to track everything in my auction life. I sell other peoples items for a commission and I have been thinking of creating a monster Excel spreadsheet or Access DBase to manage the money coming in and out. Plus the shipping tracking numbers, shipping collected, shipping charged, listing fees, paypal fees etc.

I was hoping someone already has a solution that i could modify, rather than re-invent the wheel so to speak.

Any help would be life saver....Thanks all,
Steve (the newbie on the block)

There used to be a program called Profit that was an inventory, cost, customers, you name it tracking dream. The company that created it (Great Plains) was bought out by Microsoft and aspects of it were divided into different pieces and sold to high end business customers as GreatPlains Modules. Other parts were incorporated into the monstrosity that is Peachtree (leave it MS to take the perfect product and screw it all up!).

I had it and have unfortunately lost two of the install disks but am trying to contact my old business partner to see if he still has his set.

If you can find it - it is the be all end all of tracking, reporting, invoicing, late night fudge making programs and I will gladly give you or anyone else that can find it my first born child (I would consider giving birth for this specific purpose) in exchange for a copy. Once you use it, you'll never part with the original.

Thanx... Check out this site http://www.champbiz.com/home.html and see if they are pitching the same product "Profit" you were mentioning. Looks like Profit Gold is the latest and greatest for this company. As you said, it may not be around anymore, but I will let you know if I find anything.

I think I love you : ) I am going to call the company in the morning and see if this is the evolution of the product I used. It really was a great product that I was able to jump into on the very first day and was as easy and efficent with the 27k customers we had at the end as with the 100 we started out with.

Love is one thing... but, "sharing the love" is the real meat and potatoes. If your successful in your findings let me know, I would be interested in getting a long term "demo" version. (wink wink). I would be happy to assist with your efforts.

This is all very nice, but what about your eBay auctions? Are they going to download the information for you? Or do you have to manually enter each one? No way, am I going to sit in front of my computer and do all that data entry!
