Is there any way to find out where a bidder with 0 feedback is from, either zip code or state? Also this particular bidder just registered on March 3, 2003, but he has no sunglasses. I thought newbies wore sunglasses for 1 month.

If you go to the Ebay page where you get contact information, it is made clear that you must be involved in a transaction with the seller in order to get his contact data from Ebay. So you would have to bid on one of his auctions, and could get the data while the auction is in progress.

I do NOT recommend bidding, getting the data, then cancelling your bid. Here is Ebay's contact information request page:

http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MemberSearchShow

I have no answer where his sunglasses went. Why does it matter where he is from? I wouldn't bid on a zero feedback seller anyway. Oh! You think he's a creep you've known and hated before?

Good luck,
Patty

He is the bidder on one of my auctions. He/she has zero feedback. I've had a problem with a man from California who somehow is able to set up new Ebay accounts. He has messed up 2 of my auctions by outbidding everyone and then not paying. I guess I'm being paranoid but I've got an auction going now and it's up to $90. and high bidder has zero feedback. I'm just trying to see if this could possibly be that same guy.

Why not email him and ask for the info you want...Tell him of your past problems, and ask him to identify himself...If he's on the up and up he shouldn't mind at all...If he's your guy from before he will object probably, then you will know, and can cancel his bid if you want to...I'd give him so long to respond...

Thanks jeffh. I'll give it a try. If anyone has suggestions on how to word an email like this without sounding rude I would appreciate it. I don't want to scare him off.

After careful consideration of the facts as well as my having consulted with my consultant, we have sensitively crafted and modestly propose the following:

"Who the h*ll are you, where the h*ll are you and why in h*ll are you bidding on my auction?"

Since he BID on your auction, you can use the link I supplied and go get his contact data. I'm not sure if anything other than phone number is included, but the area code should give you a clue.

If it looks like he's the same person, cancel his bid and block him as bidder, block email, report to Ebay. No sense in emailing the bidder. If it's the same creep, he will lie to you so he can stay in the bidding and mess you up yet again.

Good luck,
Patty
