Not sure what has happened here..I shipped a postcard to a winning bidder January 21st right after I received the PP payment....today I got my package back marked "unclaimed"..I looked to see if he had done any recent buying..nada since our transaction and yet had been steadily buying up until then...I emailed him today that his package was here....still no answer...what to I do with the package? How long do you think I should hold the package? Anyone else have this happen?

Get his phone # & call him. He may have died or he may be on vacation. After all he paid for it, then you should try to deliver.

In a case like this, I would immediately pull his contact info and phone him. It may be something as simple as an incompent postal clerk, or something more serious. The main thing is to avoid an accusation of non-delivery, and if snail mail and email won't work, Ma Bell is your best alternative.

How long do you keep a postcard? Hmmmmm, forever. This is what I wanna know, how long do you keep a Commercial Hotel Lobby Ice Machine? BIG! They said they would be right over to get it 3 months ago! I want it out of here. Not to warry it was not cheap either. I can't even find the info any more, not that I really care too. I am not in the Baby sitting business, buy it and get it. They said they were coming no reason to hound them.

The Cat wanted out, Yawn.....zzzzzz

How do you get contact info from eBay? I don't see a place to request it? I did a phone number from switchboard.com so will call today but wonder if eBay's info might be more current. WOW FETISH! You got a point...!

How do you get the person's ebay contact info? Click on his ebay name and the contact request screen will come right up!

neglus,

To get the contact info, click on the buyers feedback #. Just under the "eBay USER ID" box are 3 options for Items For Sale/ID History/Feedback about others. Click on ID History and you can request Contact Info from there. It's your second option down.

How much did the postcard sell for? If its only a couple of bucks I would not waste money on phone calls. That is not your job!

Try to email them and wait for someone to contact you. I would hang on to the card for 30 days after which I would feel free to resell it. You are not running a storage center after all.

Lucky you. My buyers (or close relatives) all die before they pay me

Thanks all....i kind of was in agreement with trai..postcard sold for only $5 -$1.50 s/h...hardly worth the time and $ for call...i called the number on switchboard.com and it turns out HES NOT DEAD!! He only just arrived at his winter home in Florida, yet had the postcard sent there in January!! ...now i have to resend..more $$...not happy but i guess i dont really wish him dead.

Another question then, do you all get checks with no auction id on them - no title - no nothing? (like you are selling one item only on ebay)...what do you do with them? I HATE popping for all these calls!! Tempted to wait until buyers contacts me asking where their card is..or responds to my payment reminder..

Once in awhile I get one of those. If you can not id this check just wait till they contact you as they will wondering where their stuff is.

Most of the time I can track it down but its a pain as it eats up my time. Problem is people do not think when they fail to put even a auction # or i.d. on the check etc..

There was someone who used to post here, I think it was mrbusinessman, who said he solved this problem by giving them his address but he would add Dept #8967 and those digits would be the last four of the auction number.

Then when payments came in with no identification he could match them quickly with the auction.
