I want to try and create a template for auctions and one for letters. I have no idea how to do this. Screen Savers made it look really easy but I can't even figure out how to begin.

Does anyone know of a site that will teach me what to do? I have some time this week and really want to learn.

Thanks in advance and sorry I sound so stupid. I just never tried and now regret not learning more before...

I do mine in Front Page and then cut and paste the HTML into the auction description area.

A lot depends on what you want to do. When creating Listings, I use the AW templates, and insert some relatively simple HTML code in the description and terms to give me a "custom" look. The advantage is that I only have to change the the actual descriptive text within the HTML code.

If you want to make your own, you can download one of several free HTML editors. Go to cnet.com or webattack.com to find a list, or go to a site like Nucite (above) or www.freesitetemplates.com/generators.html for an on-line generator.

I've become very bored with the AuctionWatch templates after 3 years. Yesterday I had some extra time and played around with HTML, I also checked out a site called FreeForm, which puts in the HTML for you, you cut and paste into the description area on the auction watch form. It took me all afternoon, but I finally got a new look for my auctions that I've been wanting. Have fun!

annie55, can you tell us where the free form site is? I tried freeform.com and was pretty sure that wasn't it.
Thanks

alwaysfun,

I did a Google search and I think this is the site that annie55 is talking about. (Thanks annie55!)

I'm going to check it out, too. Thanks for the idea!

Hi guys! If you go to www.robshelp.com you will get to the freeform home page, which is the best place to start. If you have any questions, Rob will email you pretty quickly. When I first saw all the directions, my brain scrambled! But, I took a look at other auctions using freeform and got the idea and just jumped right in. Please remember not to use the "back" button - you will loose what you've input - I learned this the hard way a couple of times! He has a warning there - but with so much to read, I didn't notice it.

Let me know how you're doing. I'm now at the stage where it's fun.
