Hello,
Can some one tell me if you send an email without a reciept, if you can tell if it has been read? Or is that impossible? Using outlook express I just sent a regular email and got a question from someone if I sent them an email, well I had and they claim they did not get it, it did not come back so I assume they are lying, before I jump there case..let me know if I can prove it please.
Thank you ahead of time!

I don't think there is a way to tell if they read it but I would say if they have any kind of spam guard it stopped it.I've had a few more of my e-mails not making it to customers mail box because of the newer spam guards.I added a note to the bottom of my Auctions this week that says I always make contact within a few hours ,if you don't receive an e-mail from me it's because your spam guard blocked it so please contact me .Thank you !!
We'll see if that helps any

When you send someone an E-mail with a read receipt! It opens with a box for you to click yes or no!
If they click( NO )
You have no way of telling!

I think only AOL allows you to know if they read it or not... if you both use AOL that is.

Sometimes mail just "disappears" maybe a router burped or something along the way so don't fret when they say they didn't receive it. However that is a good excuse now a days.

Don't assume they are lying. There are a myriad of things that can, and do, go wrong at any of the many "hops" your email makes before getting to its destination.

The only time you should have an email "bounce" is when the last server in the chain can't find the address. Even then, it may not always mean the address is bad.

I had a situation recently that nearly poisoned a business relationship because they claimed I had not sent them in invoice. It turns out my ISP had a server go down and many emails were lost (even though they were supposed to be mirrored).
