I just noticed a while ago that all my auction titles with a "&" in them, have now become "&#38" I changed one with revise item, and it changed, but has now gone back again. Anyone else have this problem, it looks so strange on the listing!

I've had that happen in the past, and I don't think there's anything you can do about it - an ebay glitch. I could be wrong, though. Usually I don't see them until the auction has closed.

The ampersand has special meaning in web language. It's best to stay away from it, unfortunately. Sometimes you can get the same wacky results when it is in the auction description as well.

I had an ampersand in 7 of my auction titles, and they all has #38 after them, people must have wondered whatever I was selling! It is so hard to get everything into the titles, but I guess I won't use it again!

This happened with a feedback I left a couple of weeks ago. It had a #38 in it so I wrote to the bidder and said that it was an ebay glitch. But later when I went to show it to someone the number was gone and the feedback was normal again.

I have read all your posts above here, and your problems are with your browsers vs. the new ebay listing form. Here is my story:

I use MS Word for all text, and copy and paste into the auction descriptions directly into the description and title after getting there with a browser.

After I was "forced" to abandon the old sellers form and use the new one the first of the year, I have experienced the following:

IExplorer - Says my 45 character title is too long, makes me take about 10 characters out of it before it will take it, and puts funny thick vertical marks in title and description.

Netscape 4.5 - Won't work at all anymore.

Netscape 4.78 - Works ok but ignores the "Schedule Auction" ahead feature.

Netscape 6.02 - Looks ok at first, but when ebay processes description before final review, all of my ', " and - turn into ?'s. I manually have to change them and go back to review, and then ok, but quite a pain with alot of auctions at once.

Netscape 7.0 - Just went to it and appears ok.
However, I am getting emails back from buyers that have strange ?'s that they are picking up from my auctions, even tho not visible to me on auction ??? Huh....??

Sounds to me like you are all using IE and maybe that's what it does to the "&" if my experience proves anything !!!

Anyone have any thoughts on this ??
