I just got a weird positive feedback from a zero feedback newbie. The auction ended on March 23rd. The feedback left was:
very nice people....sorry i backed out
Now... he never contacted me, or responded to my WBN... and I certainly never agreed to not complete the transaction! He is also now listed as NARU'd. Should I file for FVF's and put my item back into inventory? Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Yes, file for FVF and relist.
I have received a couple of positives from people who did not complete the transaction. I think they prefer to tell you that way in the hopes you will not pursue it further. If they have not been NARU'd they sometimes hope the feedback will make you feel sorry for them and not file FVF or leave a neg.

Thanks for your replys. It's weird... the guy signed up on March 17th, was NARU'd today, and only bid on one item (the one I was so fortunate that he won!) I wonder why he signed up for ebay in the first place, and what caused his account to be NARU'd. Sigh... I just wish in cases like this that eBay would refund your listing fee as well as your FVF. Such a waste.

Follow through and do whatever eBay will still
allow you to do (Negative feedback, NPB and
FVF credit). Deadbeats deserve it, Positive
feedback or no. You are part of a community
and you owe it to that community to warn us
of their behavior. I do it for you!
