I have a case of tile from the Franklin Tile Company. I have about 15 sq feet. I have the original box, which wasn't opened until I got my greedy hands on it. It is in mint condition and absolutely beautiful. You may not be able to see it in the photos but the edges are outlined in a thin line of gold glaze.
I got it from a tile store that has been in business since 1923. They told me that it is probably from the 30's. I have been told that it may be worth something to collectors.
My question: What do you think it is worth if anything?

See if you have a home type salvage yard in your area, go and see if they have anything like it and that might give you an idea as far as pricing, of course I am betting it is not light so shipping could be a nightmare.

The Dal-Tile facility is located at the north end of Cannon Avenue in Lansdale Borough andHatfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The industrial site manufactured glazedceramic tiles at this location since 1927. Ownership of the property has changed several timessince 1927. The Franklin Tile Company operated at this location from 1927 until the early 1950s. From the early 1950s until 1959, the name of the company was American Encaustic Tile Company. In 1959 the name of the company was changed to American Olean Tile Company. In December1995, Dal-Tile International, then the largest U.S. manufacturer of ceramic tile acquired theAmerican Olean Tile Company. After closure of the Dal-Tile facility in August 1998, the property was sold to Stoltz Management who is undertaking plans to redevelop the property.
Well here is some history that might help your search...

Thanks all...
I called dal-tile a few months ago about the tile. The two people I spoke to were pretty surprised that I had some in a case. They both said, late 30's early 40's.
The store that I got the tile from has been in the same family since the 20's. I have other tile from there. Some of it is so old it is packed in wood crates with straw and that is the original packing.
Kiara: I have few pieces of tile like that in the auction you mentioned. It is a bronze color. I found it underneath this tile.
I am going to see if I can't find more info on the case.
