Mr. Smith has 3 feedbacks-2 are for selling. Mr. Jones regesters the day one of Mr. Smith's auctions ends. Mr. Jones places the first bid on the cell phone, starting item at $75.00, his bidding stops at $150-item sells for $157.00
OK-nothing strange there-yet. Now Mr. Smith has listed another cell phone 10 days later and guess what...yep Mr. Jones is the first one that places the bid starting at $9.99 and has run the bidding up to $52.00 (auction not over yet)
Mr. Jones has zero feedback, and even though there has been and still are, several of the same model cell phones, several are better buys and cheaper ( Mr. Smith has listed two diffrent models)Mr. Jones has not bid on any other than those that Mr. Smith is selling.
What do you think....shilling or not?

has Mr Jones bid on any other auctions at all? sounds fishy but IMHO it is still too early in the game to call for sure.

Sounds like Mr. Smith is doing what 99.9% of Electronics/Computer sellers do on eBay... shill their items, that is if they are not gouging the hell out you for shipping...

It's too early to tell. I usually watch them for about a month and many do really stupid things.

This is the second month now that I have watched one seller shill their own auctions (I have my reasons why I keep an eye on them) and they are doing very silly things.

Is it because some really think that ebay is so big that no one else will ever notice?

It's kind of sad to see a newbie bid on something and get attached to it and not know enough to look around for another and then see the seller bidding against them and pumping up the price.
