I am sick of the USPS. I stand in line every day to spend money at the Post Office (over $10,000.00 last year) and they hate to see me coming. They are lazy whining sorry people that should be made to be in business for themselves for awhile so they could see what it is like to make a living instead of drawing a paycheck every week for showing up.

I needed to get that off my chest before I go there today and actually slip up and say that . Now I will be able to smile when I say Hi nothing fragile, liquid, harmfull, or potentually hazardess.

Wow, I have the opposite reaction. The thing about the post office is that it really depends from location to location. I like all of the clerks at my current post office, even when there has been a problem (i.e. what qualifies for air letter post as opposed to air parcel post) they were really professional and nice about it. I've also moved around a bit in the past 7 years, living in 3 different states. I did have one post office that I dealt with where I was not happy with the clerks, but it was in a Los Angeles Suburb and I had my choice of post offices, so while that one was most convenient, it was not that big of a deal to go to 5 others. I think at that one there was one really bad clerk, and perhaps his bad attitude affected others? Anyway, there are always a few bad apples, my experiences with postal employees has been remarkably positive.

Get Endicia. If you spend that much you will save more than it costs in time. I spent about $8,000 with them in the past year. All I see of them is the people at the back of the Post Office when I drop my packages off. No lines ever! I am blessed becuase I have a very good Post Office less than 1 mile from my home. The best part is they let me deliver to the docks in the back. This is great when you have 40 packages.

I love going into my post office. Both clerks I deal with buy and sell on Ebay so they understand the shipping thing. That may be the difference. We spend time yaking about the different auction sites and deals we've gotten or money we've made. It's actually a relief from living with a teenage son and a boyfriend who could care less about my Ebay activity. It also helps that my post office is a small branch and most people go to the main one. Most mornings, I'm the only one there.

they are so pleased that i buy hundred dollars worth of stamps from them,so they know even if i am not in the store,i am using USPS service.
They also clue me in on how to save money,my last package to UK ,they help me save 12 dollars,12 big bucks, nothing to sneer at!!

Couldn't resist this one. If you think the post office sucks here, try the Canadian postal service! Gawd. Mail in Canada is slow as molasses and anyone who seriously wants important mail to actually get anywhere in this lifetime uses Purolator$$$. I've always really liked the service at my local post office, and living in Canada for awhile made me appreciate the USPS even more. It may not be perfect, but it's great compared to the alternatives.

Okay, Here goes. I need a favor on a question. I know that has been answered before but I just can't find it. I use Online Postage (Stamps.com). I formerly was a Simply Postage Customer so I have been doing the automated "thingey" for over almost 18 months. So here is the question: Can anyone send me the official USPS Link that has the "drop-off" guidelines. Most of my packages are packs in the 1-2 lb range. Some however, are boxes in the 5 lb range. I live in a teeney - tiney 2 light town where there is usually one postal clerk working (although there are 3 windows I have never seen 3 there). So I ALWAYS have to stand in line. THEN. They proceed to scan the free DC on every single package (no matter if it is one or twenty) one by one, even though I have emailed customer service for the USPS and they confirmed they had spoke to the Post Master her about it. And "educated" her on how to handle the packages. But I guess you just can't educate us hillbillies. HELP!!!! I would love to print it out and take it in to them to see so they will quit scanning my packages!!!!
