I just took down an antique coffee pot I have had for years- It is marked Dunham & Sons - Portland Maine-I believe it is pewter but I see spots of copper coming through- Was pewter ever made that way and if so when???? Any info would be appreciated-

I've never heard of pewter over copper, however silver over copper is quite common. Sure it's not silver plate?

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
