A potential buyer has emailed me asking if my silverplate teapot is safe to use. How do you tell? She wants to know if it is "clean" inside. Well, it looks like it has never been polished inside. I don't know how you would. It is just very dark inside. Does anyone know about such things? I wouldn't want anyone to get sick.

The silver or tarnish wouldn't cause any ill effects, otherwise England would be a deserted island by now. However, if she's planning on serving hemlock tea out of it....

OMG, Half of England & 1/4 of the population of the USA would be dead if it wasn't safe to use./ There is a problem using some pewter, but not Silverplate. It has a copper base. Pewter has a lead base which can be deadly.
