I listed one text book that apparently is usually part of a set of 3. After 5 questioning emails and bids that went too high for the one book, I figured the bidders thought the auction was for the set of 3. The auction closed, and sure enough, that is what the high bidder thought. I'm not going to hold her to the auction. Is there any way to cancel it and get the fees credited? Or do I eat the fees and relist?

No matter what ebay gets their insertion fee. I think that you can recoup your FVF fee with a mutually agreed upon FVF ( Final Value Fee ). You gotta jump through their stupid hoops though.

Did you mention in your auction that there was only one book? If you did I think your buyers should have asked questions before bidding. If you mention all the particulars then it is up to the buyer to make sure they are bidding and what you have and not on what they think you have.
