Ok, I just got the email from eBay about Penny Gallery days. Do you find it's worth it? Since it's Tuesday - Thursday, do you run straight 7 days, or 5 days on the Tuesday and either 3 or 10 on the Thursday?

Did that make sense? LOL

Edited because I speak better than I type!

It's worth a penny, that's all. I list everything at either 7 or 10 days. The more exposure to any potential bidders the better.

Do you think this will mean that there will be no free listing day in June?

There is very little chance of an FLD in June in my opinion.

Not worth it. The sole purpose of Penny Gallery Day is that eBay can get the full 25 cent fee from you when you relist the item.

Sure, you're going to remember to take out the Gallery info when you relist, right?

Hi,

I'll be doing the same as Rarriffle - listing on Thursday for 10 days. Two weekends of exposure.

I've used the Gallery since it first started. Well worth the money. Increases hits and bids. When I'm searching I look for gallery auctions first, too. If it's a category with a lot of listings, the ones without get passed by.

Honestly, ohmslucy, I don't think most bidders care about Gallery.

I've never used it (though lots of my competitors do) and I still have 96-98% sellthrough.

Those itty-bitty pictures are awfully hard to make out sometimes.

i use the gallery about 98% of the time and think it really works...as a buyer I don't even bother if they don't use the gallery...I don't have time to wade through all of them.

I never look at gallery listings only. I think that 25 cent fee is the most needless and foolish fee but others swear by it.
As for the relists costing the extra 25 cents .. I always check the amount before hitting the relist button.
It's odd that on May 28 & 29 that ebay just had a Half Price sale on Gallery.

In case you haven't received the email yet, they say they made changes to the gallery pics. Supposedly they are sharper than before and now rather than having the black line at the top and bottom, it's white (oooo!)

I have done it occasionally on rarer and more expensive items, but since it's rare for me, I thought I'd ask.

I do understand Fluffy's point about the possibility of forgetting on relists. I'd probably forget!

Hi,

As I said earlier, when it's a category with loads of listings, I skip the ones without the gallery pic. I don't have time to click on every auction without some clue I'll maybe be interested.

Yes, sometimes the little pics are hard to see. I've tried hard to make mine stand out.

Here's an example:

Another thing I like is when someone clicks on my other listings they see pictures, rather than just a list of auctions.

Anyway, to each his own and best of luck to everyone on your auctions, galleried or not!

I'm glad some buyers skip non-gallery auctions. That makes more bargains for the rest of the shoppers. I feel the title is more important than a tiny photo. I have a feeling the gallery may one day be totally free if it's an iPix photo. There's no way to justify a quarter for a tiny photo.
