Picture this. You purchase great deals at terrific prices at garage sales while sales at Ebay are slow. You know the product you bought for $2.00 should bring $75.00+, but notice the prices now are soft, and the item may be out of season. Let's say the product you bought is a pair of snow skis.

Now you want to put your item out in the marketplace, in case someone wants it, but you really would like to wait until the product is in season and it will for sure bring the $75.00. Of course there may always be that person looking for your particular ski and is willing to pay your price.
Also, it would be nice to be on the market during the transitional time into the season, so your item will be sold before your "would be" customer buys from someone else because your item was not offered at the time.

You can place it in your E-bay store for 6 Cents per month with gallery, and set the price at $75.00. This costs you 36 cents for 6 months.

During the 6 months, it might sell, plus you have had the exposure of the item to sellers and those people viewing "Sellers Other Items" through E-bay.

Also, if someone searches for your item at E-bay and you have the item in your E-bay store, it will show the searcher related stores, and your store may be listed. (This is a great features, especially when few people are offering the item in regular auctions)

At the end of the six months, maybe the skis have not sold, but many other items you placed in your store, at a good price for you and the purchaser, have already sold. Now the market is better, and you cancel the store item that did not sell, and do a re-list of the item. It is already ready to re-list because it was just a current auction with E-bay. You change the format to auction, or fixed price, and let it sell during season, for a good price, having had the exposure and possibility of a sale for six months for a total of 36 cents, instead of just gathering dust in your garage.

You could put it in your Vendio store instead, if you have one. The Vendio Store subscription may cost as much, for a subscription, as an E-bay store. The Vendio Store items are not viewable through "View Sellers Other Items", but can be found by people searching froogle.com. However, if someone happens to find your item on froogle.com, they may not understand they can trust you because of your excellent feedback, because there will be no feedback reference with this item.

With the Vendio Store, when it comes time to re-list back to regular E-bay, any pictures past the four associated with your Vendio Store Item will have expired and have been deleted and you will now need to get your auction re-listed by finding the old pictures to upload or getting the old listing data back to the Listing Tool you use to launch your auctions.

When times are slow, drop your item into a store and wait it out, while still having the exposure and the possibility of a sale.

If I have an item in an Ebay store what if it is not viewed for 3 months? I know sales are slow in the stores.

Does Vendio know it is an active listing and not delete the photo or does it have to actually be opened and viewed?

You pictures need to be viewed to stay active.

If it is in your View Sellers other items list, and you are running regular auctions, I would think just about all of the auctions will be opened up a few times in a 3 month period.

I think you are right though, the photo expiration even in an E-bay Store could still be a problem if the item was totally dormant.

There are some items I sell that may sell better for things like Halloween or Christmas, so I may hold something back. Seriously though, I tend to do more buying over the summer and less selling on ebay. Buying opportunities are really reduced in the winter, and sales are stronger. I also will be pretty much on the road from next week until the middle of July, so that also makes it easier not to sell since I won't be around!

I had similar thoughts and have begun "stocking" my store to wait out the summer!

I use the Gallery View in my store - will viewing "sellers other items" which will bring up the gallery be enough to keep the image "active"??
