Hi everybody (and Jack's Webb, nice to see you back on the radar screen!)
Has anyone else noticed payments credited to their Paypal account for which Paypal failed to notify you? I was paid for 2 auctions yesterday and didn't know it until I went to the Paypal site and logged in. What's weird is, I was also paid for a different auction just this morning and Paypal DID notify me of that particular payment, even though it came later. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for the inconsistency, and I'm just glad that I checked my Paypal account firsthand before assuming that I was not paid by the 2 bidders yesterday.

Yes, I had this happen on Monday. I did get a notice on Tuesday on another sale & that is how I found out about the other one.

Yep, just happened to me.
Sure glad you posted this, or the poor guy who paid today would have had to wait til Monday for me to mail his item. It made me check my Paypal and there it was. Thanks!

For about the last month it's been happening to me too.
So, after emailing 2 buyers asking where their payment was and making a fool of myself, I no longer rely on Paypal to send me notices.
I go into my acct twice a day to check.

Knock on wood I haven't run into the problem of no notice yet but I check my Pay Pal account a couple of times a day just to insure myself that all is well and there has been no hanky panky done to my account. I may even start doing it several more times a day because of Pay Pals new user agreement where they want almost instant notification of any problems you may have to protect your rights with them.

Thanks one and all for your replies. You know, I still haven't gotten Paypal notices about yesterday morning's payments! I just get a chill down my spine at the thought of someday unknowingly filing an NPB against some bidder that did indeed pay, when all along Paypal didn't notify me. Yikes!

Yep, since my last post, I've had even more Paypal payments that I was NOT notified about. This is getting ridiculous and potentially troublesome, especially when you deal with hundreds of bidders and can't check the online Paypal account ten times a day. Anyone here know of a Paypal e-mail address that will actually be replied to? Whatever happened to that Damon guy?

When PayPal changed their email payment notification format from plain to fancy (text only to links, etc.) a year or so ago, I began missing approximately a third of my payment notifications. Prior to the change, I hadn't missed a one...from back when PayPal was free.
After a few weeks of frustration, having to check my account several times each day for payments, I noticed the option at bottom to change emails back to "text only." I clicked the preference and haven't missed a payment since that day.
With several of you suddenly having the problem at the same time, it may be a temporary glitch and not the answer for you. It stopped my dilemma and I've noticed other threads on this board during the months suggesting the text only format for reliable payment notifications.

Hi,
I have run into this problem several times in the last couple of months as a buyer on eBay. I bought several items from different sellers and paid via PayPal. When the items didn't show up after a reasonable amount of time, I contacted the sellers. They had no idea what I was talking about until they checked their PayPal account and discovered my purchases. PayPal hadn't notified them.
They were generally large volume sellers, who relied on PayPal notifications for information an auction had successfully ended, and to initiate the shipping process.
This is worrying me, since I am about to upload a number of auctions offering payment via PayPal. I wonder if this has anything to do with eBay buying PayPal. Like bank mergers, it may have created some problems in the customer service area...

I agree with beachbound. I have two accounts. One for business and one personal and have made sure they are both in text format and have never had a problem with notification.
