HI all
I need some advice re some magazines I am listing. They have a small like they have been stored in a cold maybe damp place. They are not mildew or damaged but they do have a bit of a "mildew"smell.
Is there a quick fix?? Or do I just describe the smell whne I list them?

Hi caramelcoffee I don't sell magazines but I think I saw in a post once before that a bounce fabric softener sheet like you throw in the dryer or some potpourri tied up in a bag with the books will take out some of the smell ...maybe one of the book sellers will help out here

There is no quick fix that I am aware of. I put them a box or bag, plastic or cardboard with a dish of baking soda or kitty litter for a couple weeks or longer. Also putting them outside on a sunny day might help. I've sold a ton of old magazines and usually just junk the real smelly ones.

I have heard the one about the kitty litter but don't get the scented ones. I think they have to be submerged for about 2 weeks.

The cheapest & one of the best is good old sunshine. Put the mag on a flat surface with full exposure to the sun. put a sheet of glass over it with about 1/2 in space between the mag & the glass. 2 or 3 days should really clean it up.
