A Vendio user by the eBay ID of [email protected] is stealing my pictures and hosting them on Vendio. The auction numbers are 2836795448, 2836614398, 2835869416, 2835869421, 2836100604, 2836100627. Can this be reported to Vendio and what is the proper contact at eBay to report this?

If they were linking to my ISP, I would have a lot of fun. The problem is the took the pictures and then uploaded them to Vendio and IPIX so I cannot do what I would LOVE to do!

Send this to your seller and tell them if they don't remove your images that you will report them to eBay.

Stayed up to late sorry. Maybe this time I will get it right...

Off-topic, Marc, and I'm sorry, but I wanted to get your opinion on something that is related.

I ran across a very high feedback seller who is copping Coldwater Creek photos *and* descriptions (word-for-word) to sell her CC items.

How do you feel about that practice?

Fluffy:

If CC has no problem with this, then I do not either. I also sell QVC clothing and they have a strict policy of not allowing their images to be used. They are all available on the QVC web site. If a seller gets caught, they will no longer be allowed to purchase from QVC. The same is true for Silhouettes as I buy directly from them. For the Zaftique line that I sell, I have full permission to use images and ad text if I choose to do so. This seller is also using Silhouettes catalog images without permission. I am just pissed that a competitor is using images that I spent time taking. They obviously cannot take their own if you take a look at their listings. I also sent a notice to Vendio letting then know that they are hosting images without my permission.

A powerseller should know better. Stealing auctions is stealing other peoples' work. I hope you get them shut down ASAP.

fluffy I get and love the Coldwater Creek catalog ... what I've always wondered is how do they photograph the clothes so that they appear to be inhabited by invisible people? My best guess is photo manip (picture taken on a dress form which is then edited out) but I am truly stumped.

I am going through and finding them and reporting them one at a time and providing a link to my closed listings with the same images. She is also using images from another seller (express_source) who I have notified as well. I hope eBay does something with this.

I fell this is one way you can be a power seller and not do the work that is required to do your own auctions. I could never be a power seller because it takes me to long to image, edit and write descriptions that go along with the auctions I am doing.

Wait!!!!!!!!!

Now I know there are power seller that do all their own work and I take my hat off to them. They must spend a lot of time on the computer to do the things they do. I don't know many but ihula, neglus come to mind and that is only because they use the same user name here and on eBay. Others that write all their own I also take my hat off to whoever they are...

Libra63:

I am a silver Power Seller and not by desire, but just by virtue of a lot of hard work. We wife and I do between 100 and 200 listings per week, take all the pictures and write the ads. We do this for fun and a little extra money. Thanks to eBay, we will be leaving for an 8 day cruise this sunday!

You, too, eh?

I've come to the same conclusion, but I wouldn't want that job. What amuses me is that their copy reads as if it were written by somebody medicated who has a shelf of thesauruses close at hand.

The staff Prozac bill at CC must be huge.

marcn-Hard work pays off but as you know your hard work is also paying someone else off. It's to bad sellers have to do that. I never look at others auctions as I hope I don't find my pictures. It has happened only 2x in my 4 years here and both times I have sent emails to the sellers and showed them it was against eBay rules and either take them off or I will report them. They took them off. Do the same.

Have a nice cruise you deserve it....Here is an honest power seller....

I see from time to time people bad mouthing power sellers. Who cares about being a power seller anyway. You could all be power sellers if you wanted to work as hard as they do. If a seller is a power seller and that seller has a good feedback rateing they have worked very hard.

I have a Coldwater Creek outlet store less than 20 minutes away. I have to stop myself from stopping more than once a month. The stuff is so beautiful.

I'm a powerseller, too. I've had to put copyright verbiage in my auctions and my name in the pictures. I've turned people in for stealing my listings.

I use my eBay ID here and on the other boards. The only problem is, if you P*** off a lurker, they can cause problems if you inadvertantly vary one iota from the eBay rules. The regular posters will tell you off to your face (figuratively speaking).

Jensmom, they will do that anyway no matter what your user ID is. I don't think they single anyone out.....No one is immune from the rath of the poster.

They have about a dozen of my pictures, only 4 or 5 have been cancelled so far. I just hope the seller gets the point.

Go in and change the picture but save the name as the same. Put in a ratty old item of clothing or something.

What does Vendio do?

Is this an auction site? Or is it a Store site?

How popular, well known is it?

You are posting on Vendio right now. Yes, there are Vendio stores. You can list your items through this site (I recommend it) and also track your listing. It will automatically send out your Winning Bidder Notices (WBN) for you and track who has and has not paid (as long as they use your Vendio checkout). Vendio also hosts pictures. Great benefits for the price. Vendio used to be AuctionWatch.

I'm confused.
So this is another auction site?
How do they compare to Ebay and Yahoo? This is a strange set up.

I noticed that Ebay had a community, but I couldn't make head nor tails how to post a message and get a reply. It seemed to be jammed with messages. All over the place.
