I just received the following letter from a non-paying bidder. Funny thing is, I did not file for FVF's yet. This person also states I am taking away her source of income. When I look at this buyer's feedback (sandydee8) there is no selling feedback, only buyer.

"I am appalled that you have cut off my only other source of income (eBay) by reporting me as non-paying bidder, even after I sent you a copy of the money order receipt. What did you think? That I have some "inside" people at Wells Fargo Bank who would jeopardize their job by "phonying up" a money order receipt in the EXACT AMOUNT of the payment for your item?

This makes me very sad. I have sent you the payment; I have sent you proof of the payment; I have explained to you all of the difficulties that have occurred in my life in the past few months, and you apparently don't even care and would cause an older disabled lady to lose a significant portion of her income over $19.54? Is there any explanation why someone's livelihood (and sometimes my utilities and groceries) would be put at stake over such an amount? I would send you twenty bucks by carrier pigeon right this minute, if I had it. Unfortunately, my pension check does not arrive until June 20th, and anyway, I've already paid you. I wish you explain why you went ahead and did this to me even after you had proof of the payment."

To this day nearly 6 weeks later, I still have not received payment for her auction and she has 15 other negs for the same story...

Life is tough!

She didn't know how filed the NPB's on her and must have sent a form letter to everyone she deadbeatted on in the last 90 days in hopes of getting a retraction or chance of a retraction by paying up.

Maybe she buys on eBay and sells at a flea market or something. For an older disabled lady she sure buys strange things...must be to resell. She has had great FB until a few months ago so something was have happened. You never know but one thing for sure you will never get your money on this one.

Marc,

One of my many collections is miniature musical instruments (as Christmas ornaments).

If I ever decide to divest myself of them, I'll be sending the tiny violins to bidders like yours.

I have heard this "money order receipt" nonsense before too. Either they are acting or they genuinely do not GET why you won't accept the receipt as proof of payment.

Both possibilities are scary.

I looked at her feedback: classic out-of-control bidder. Some glowing reviews, some "gave many excuses" complaints. She's probably maxed out all her credit cards.

With all the bidding I just have to wonder if the reason she is NARU because of a medical problem. I am not standing up for her but her buying habits just don't go along with the age. All the die cast items. Maybe someone else also is buying under that user ID. This was probably the best thing that could have happened because if she doesn't have the money she sure is buying.

Fluffy:

The mini violins are just what these bidders need I have had several deadbeats send scans of money orders which never show up and there is no way to prove what the scan is.

Once I saw she was NARU'd, I tried to file for my FVF's and it said it has not been 10 days since I filed the NPB. In the past, with any NARU'd buyer I would get the FVF's immediately.

Hi Marc!
That's an eBay 'gottagettaround to fixinit' issue ~
if a bidder has become NARU, you immediately get credited for FVF when filing an NPB (the second screen for the credit pops up).
BUT
If you file an NPB and the bidder becomes NARU after YOU have filed the NPB, you must wait the ten days to get your FVF credit.
it needs to be fixed!

fluffy:
do you also collect mini coffins for all of the illness and death of family members?
Seems much nicer item then sending a condolence e-mail!

Now mini coffins I could really use! I just cannot believe how many bidders have had a death in the family. I am sure some are real but they can't all be. Just last week I received an email from someone stating they were the daughter of my bidder who died (with a smile on her face) the moment they won my auction. I've heard it all in the last few weeks!

And people say there are no unique items to sell on eBay any more.

Hate to tell this, but they're already out there. I bought a string of lights ornamented with caskets for a co-worker's 50th birthday party and they had all kinds of other party favors. Check your local party warehouse under the 50th birthday section.
