I have been using the label from the post office for both First Class Mail and Priority packages for Delivery Confirmation Reciepts. Now, the post office says I can't use the label on First Class Mail. I will have to print out DC labels for First Class Mail. Does anyone know where to find these at the Post Office site? I believe that the rates for first class DC reciepts are .13 cents if you do it on your own printer.
When I used the DC label from the priority label, I was cutting off the top of the label which stated "Priority"
Thanks for your help.

You'll need to download the USPS Shipping Assistant software from the USPS website.

You can only use Delivery Confirmation on 1st class mail if your parcel is 3/4" thick.
I send all my parcels 1st class and have asked this question over and over again at the PO counter. Thinking that one day they might change this rule. To me if a parcel is 3/4" thick it will cost as much to send as priority mail.

Some sellers were placing small wrapped pieces of candy in envelopes there weren't 3/4" thick to meet the rule. Pretty smart.

mauibabbe, that is what I do for my 1st class eDC. I use it on everything I mail but, my parcel is 3/4" thick in the middle. Most everything I send is in either a bubble envelope or a clasp envelope. I wrap my items then I put another layer of bubble wrap around the box or item and it makes the package thicker. No problems yet.

Many thanks to all of you for the help. My First Class packages are all in bubble envelopes and are thick enough. Can you imagine the PO guy whipping out a ruler to check to make sure the package is 3/4"???
Well, thanks to auctionguy for the link to the shipping assistant. I got it downloaded and working, One question please. How in the heck do I print the labels from the shipping assistant??? I managed to get a DC reciept, but can't find how to PRINT the label. Thanks again

You won't be able to print unless you have Acrobat Reader installed on your machine.

Click on "Display Label"; that invokes acroread.

Thanks so much, I always knew that a Fluffy Cat would be able to help. I had the older version of Adobe, now it pops right up when I use the "display label" in the test mode. Screw the post office, now let them pull out their ruler and measure the packages... Have a great evening to all.
