OK, I'd appreciate some advice since I'm unsure what to do....

I won an auction on May 29th (total amount with shipping was about $13.00), and I paid by PayPal on May 30th. On Wednesday, June 11th, I e-mailed the seller and said I was a bit concerned that I hadn't gotten it yet, and could I please have the shipping date and/or tracking number. I got a very quick response saying that it had been mailed on Monday (June 9th) and it should arrive soon.

Well, today (Friday) I went to the P.O. and the package was there--with a postmark date of June 11th! The item was as described and safely packed. Do I just figure the seller had a brain fart and give him the benefit of the doubt and leave a positive, or do I leave a neutral or no feedback figuring the seller was a flake?

Thanks for your advice!

I wouldn't leave any feedback or I would leave positive. I wouldn't leave a negative. It probably was a brain fart... it happens. As long as the item is good, I wouldn't sweat it. That is why we are buying on ebay and it we bought from someother mail order business, we probably would have waited longer than that.

Either none or a negative positive would be best. (positive feedback with negative comment)
That way it they can push it off the page with good feedbacks when/if they shape up.

In these cases I usually leave none. Why reward a seller that takes a long time to mail out items?

i wouldn't leave a neg since the package did arrive and there are no complaints about the item

if i left positive it would mention the slow shipping..there is no excuse for that..i ship the next business day after receiving paypal payment

I think I would pass on leaving any feedback.

Did they ship within the stated PP timeframe? "NO!"

I'd probably leave them a big fat NOTHING!

It appears to me that the seller had overlooked shipping your item out until you gave him a friendly reminder.
This can and does happen sometimes so If his feedback is good with no complains about this similar problem then I would leave him a positive and just figure that it was an oversight on his part, but with no bad intentions.........
He did make sure to get it out when he got your email so that says alot also.
I would feel .........not to be too critical because we are all just doing our best and sometimes things like this happen and when it does happen its nice to know there are people that are understanding.

Thanks for the advice, folks. I never considered leaving a neg because it was only slow shipping and no e-mail contact. I will leave no feedback at this time--if they press for it, I'll ask why it took them so long to ship without an explanation, and based on their answer I'll decide whether to leave a neutral or a "negative positive" mentioning the slow shipping.
