I am trying to purchase some items from a Vendio store - the item says shipping is combinable but the checkout did not combine..I ordered 3 of one item and 3 of another and the shipping is supposed to be combined at $2 but Vendio check out says $12 - I don't want to press the confirm order button..what do I do?

As a VD store-owner, I've yacked about this before -- purchases CANNOT be combined at checkout

I tell folks to just email me for correct shipping!

How can we expect Vendio to support eBay stores when they can't even support their own ... not a happy camper this morning! When I buy something I want to finish it NOW and not have to wait for an email from the seller!!

neglus-email the seller and ask them what to do. They will probably combine shipping after you make the sale. I know I would. There probably isn't any soft ware that will do that as the stores are set up for single sales.

I don't know how the stores work but they do use the same checkout as for ebay auctions and it always combines properly for auction items.
I would think that they have there settings screwed up somewhere.

Did you get to the page with the confirm order button? They show all the shipping seperate until you get to that page then it should show a discount before you confirm the order.

I got to the confirm order page and it still showed $12 shipping instead of $2. I emailed the seller but haven't gotten a response yet. I just clicked out of Vendio stores - I don't know if I commited to buy the items or not! I wasn't about to confirm my order with that kind of shipping error!

I would venture to guess that I am not the only one frustrated with this! I wonder how many sales fall through because, in this age of instant gratification, the buyer is not able to proceed with the transaction when he or she wants to!

On combined auctions it also combines shipping @ a per item rate.
Seller has to change the shipping total if wants to do so!

The discount should post after the confirm button is clicked (on the final confirmation page). Prior to that it will show the shipping for each item. Very poor design, as a seller I have to explain that many times daily. I'm assuming that the seller has programmed it to discount. There should be a paragraph at the bottom of the page describing the discount (I believe the paragraph is always there if there is a discount offered by default). The seller can also manually overide the total shipping if they wish to.

I'm not sure why tomwii believes items can't combine, I use that feature all the time.

Dave, I think we be talking about TWO differing DISCOUNTS!

There is the DISCOUNT that VD allows you to add with like items -- I know about that one & use it me-self!

The problem is how does one offer combined shipping if a buyer purchases 2 or more items??

Yes I was trying to buy 3 of widget A and 3 of widget B...the listings say any number of orders are combinable..i don't remember seeing any discount on the confirm order page and i wasn't about to click it to see what happens. Actually, I purchased items from this VD store a few months ago too and did confirm the sale and then emailed the seller and told him about the error. I then went directly to PayPal and paid the proper amount for the items but it was all screwed up and it took me more than a month to get the items!

In "My Account" global preferences:
Shipping Discounts Learn more
Select either a fixed amount, or a percentage, of the shipping to be discounted for each additional item in the buyer's shopping cart at checkout time. Enter 0 in both boxes to not offer a combined shipping discount.

There is also an area on how to handle dutch auctions.

I combine shipping all the time as a seller.
First I have to click on find combinable items, then combine, then I have to enter a combined shipping price and send it manually as a combined WBN.

It's a pain in the butt because I usually don't get to it before the auto WBN goes out.

Then it ends up that buyer gets a WBN for every item, then along comes a combined one!
