neglus asked a question at the bottom of the Bavaria thread with the fork in it so I thought I would answer here instead of bringing that one back up.

neglus, there used to be moderators here and they would step in if insults started. There was a Moderator's Corner (another forum) and sometimes disputes were settled in there. A couple of years ago AW/Vendio got rid of the mods and then required everyone to register with a credit card before we were allowed to post here. Many of the regular posters did not want to do that and left in a huff.

In my opinion this has been a much kinder and gentler place since the mods left and there are very few problems. After awhile moderators tend to favor some people over others and that seemed to lead to even more problems. Also, there were probably some that liked to push buttons just to see how far they could go before the mods stepped in.

I don't get the feeling that anyone here is out to really hurt anyone else, some things are said in jest and some posters have tougher hides than others. It helps to have a sense of humor and not to take all of this seriously.

fetish can speak for themselves but I think they mean that if a poster starts a thread and from past experience they know that one other poster will step in only to troll or derail the thread, they could have the option to block that poster from adding insults or comments to that particular conversation.

Edited to say that "themselves" means himself or herself.

The reason AW decided to get rid of the mods was that AW was in dire need of trimming it's payroll. The mods all had their own personalites and quirks and some were nice and some were strict. The asylum is now run by the inmates.
