35 dollars is one time application fee,not annual fee.
their fee is 35 cents plus 3.5 % per transaction, there is fee involved in transferring from your propay account to your bank account.
no intl cards.
i used it,it is reliable .
the advantage is that there is no monthly fee,so if you dont use it,there is no fee .

I see that now. That must be something new. I have had an account with them for quite some time (only had 2 people pay me with it) and was never charged. Must have been "grandfathered" in.

There used to be no fee to register with ProPay. I've used them for just over 2 years with no problems. It's like having a cheap credit card processing machine. I use them mainly to process cards for people who are confused by PayPal, are having problems with their PayPal account or don't have web access. Never a problem that I can recall.

uaru,
i just asked propay, you are right,it is 35 per year.
it looks like it is cheaper to get a merchant account.
too bad billpoint is gone, billpoint is free and rates are good.

Propay is cheaper than a merchant account. MA's have application fees, annual fees, monthly fees, minimums, gateway fees etc. Unless you do over a thousand dollars a month every month, Propay will be cheaper. It's a good way to test out having a merchant account without making the commitment.
However, Propay is not a real merchant account. They are a middleman between you and the customer (just like paypal). This means that if there is a chargeback, you have to rely on them to fight it for you. Sometimes, they drop the ball. There are also limitations. A single sale can't be more than $250 and no more than $1000 a month. When someone ordered $800 from me, I had to enter it as 4 separate sales. But the good news is that using Propay led to more sales and eventually I outgrew them.

you can apply for more than 1000 dollars worth of charges per month but you have to let them hold on to some reserve, like 250.having a merchant account, you are still relying on your provider to fight for you ,what they do is pass on your information.
we are all at the mercy of the customer cc issuer.
by the way, propay does not like intl cards,in fact they ban them.
