Replacement.com has a bunch of Stangl listed http://www.replacements.com/mfgpages/stangl.htm?s1=6g&575& and they will give you an idea what they are worth also. Country Garden has a pic. Yeah ! but it doesn't tell the flower names

I'm useless on this but am bored and so compelled to put in my two cents... The purple flowers are tulips, yellow is a dafodil (probably spelled wrong) and the blue looks to be some type of orchid.

I now shall take leave and return later to find that I was wrong on all counts but I have still managed to entertain my self for at least 45 seconds.

Oh yeah, and the yellow in the bowl is a sunflower. or not

Gee, and it saves two whole letters off of the word "probably"!

I wonder if the green letters indicate the individual artist???

lurkyloo ....Do you have a problem with Southern Slang too??? and to think I didn't tell you your slip was showing in this post http://www.vendio.com/mesg/read.html?num=2&thread=510618 Right where you said "If I neened an expert opinion about clothing period'" I believe you meant needed Ahhh To err is human.I'll remember not to speak Southern in here anymore.

Well it looks like spring flowers, there are tulips & a daffodil & maybe an iris & possibly a rose. On the big plate. On the smaller one it is a black eyed susan & violets. The 14 1/2 inch plate is a chop plate & is worth $4.00 at replacements if I were to sell it. As a "Star" supplier I get 15 % more than the once in a while seller. The 9 in bowl is worth $8.00. Send me a list & I will give the prices per piece. You have my email address. I believe the green stands for the artist who painted this. I'm not sure of the VII, but it might be the style code

I agree with sanmar on the flowers except it's not a rose. And it's a brown eyed susan and forget-me-nots, not violets.

Thanks for pointing out my misspelling, which I have now corrected. No, I don't have a problem with Southern slang. I simply had never seen the faux word "prolly" until I saw that people used it here on a regular basis. When I used "neened" instead of "needed," it was an error in typing and proofreading--but I have seen "prolly" used frequently so I know it is not an unintended typo. Since I am neither a computer expert nor a message board expert, that's why I inquired if it were computer shorthand (although using 6 letters instead of 8 doesn't seem to be very effective as shorthand).

Yes, to err is human, and I have certainly made plenty of errors in my life.

Prolly is an acronym for probably. It is easier and faster to say so I hear many young people saying it and I see it more and more in written word.

I think the word is prolly here to stay. lol

VII stands for 7 seven.
Maybe the Country Garden design had 10 pieces.
Then you would know you had the complete set if you had I-through-X

Also I think the green H is the artist signature.

I think the difference in price is between what Replacements will pay for it when they purchase china from someone, and what they list it for when they sell it to Joe Consumer. I don't have a copy of their price list, but I'm sure sanmar does and has quoted it correctly.

From $8 to $85??

I'm curious as to why...

Why would ANYBODY sell to replacements at that kind of a loss??

Well, that's why a lot of people sell on eBay instead of to Replacements! EBay prices usually don't get anywhere near what Replacements charges, but the seller ends up getting more out of it than if he/she had sold to Replacements. I guess some people don't want (or don't know how) to sell on eBay, and this is a way for them to get rid of Grandma's china. Also, Replacements might pay more per piece if it's a rare or sought-after pattern.
