I sold a postcard around the 1st. Earlier this week I get the email from the winner: Where's my postcard?

When I ask when payment was sent he waited two days and when I sent the second request for payment information he replied: Sent it on 7th and want my postcard now!

Not one of my better Ebay experiences but not sure what to do now. He never did tell me if it was a check or money order. And he did not reply to my EOA notice so I do not have his address.

I am tempted to email him for his address and just put it in the mail and be done with him. It was only $5.00 but I thought I would see what the rest of you would do?

It's an aggravating business this ebay ( sounds like a an old sea pirate wrote that sentence? ).
At least you sell mostly post cards that can travel via First Class Mail. Books that go by Media Mail from coast to coast can take a long time and many buyers pester the living hell out of you with where's my book emails. You gotta take the good with the bad I guess.

I don't know what your profit margin is on post cards, but I don't think I would be in a hurry to send it. The buyer may be lying about sending the payment. I would ask him to verify method of payment & again when it was posted. I have had payments that were supposed to be mailed on Monday & the postmark shows it was mailed on Thursday. I know that 10 days is a long time for a papment to come through the mails, but it does happen. I once mailed a check for $35,000.00 to my brother in KY & it took 13 days. We were both sweating that one.

Lindajean,
It's been 20 days! File an NPB alert. I know it's $5.00 but this sounds fishy; like he's trying to get something for nothing.

Whst does your TOS say for payment deadline? Nice won't get you anywhere with a deadbeat.

Actually, I never bother them with deadlines. That was why I was surprised when I received his email.

I found most people pay within 3 weeks. At the end of that time I send a follow up just to be sure payment hasn't been lost in the mail.

I rarely have anyone not pay so it just hasn't been an issue.

I did check his feedback (he has 19) and 18 were positives but one stated he would not pay for the purchase and they left a neg.

Well your first post is about as clear as mud but I suppose we are to assume you did not receive payment?

Gee if he did not pay why the question?

They don't pay, they don't get.

Do you have his complete name? If so look him up in Yahoo's white pages and see where he lives. Does his feedback show anything a miss? I would just email him, tell him since I haven't received any payment from you and you didn't send me a name or address to mail you card to. Then in a nice way ask how he paid.

Do you take Paypal?

I've had THREE bidders this week email to ask me where their item was. After checking Paypal's website, I see they all paid for the item over a week ago- Paypal never sent my notification messages!

I think I've explained the situation well enough to avoid bad feedback, but I've learned my lesson. Check the actual Paypal site daily, and don't rely on the messages.
