Any thoughts on what is the best day to end an auction. I always thought (and the concensus seems to be) that Sunday evening is the best time. Lately, I have been noticing that closing auctions on Tuesday evenings is bringing more bids and higher prices.
Has anyone else noticed this trend or is it just an abberation?

I stopped ending all of my auctions on Sunday night after realizing that the rest of the world was also ending their auctions at the same time. TOO MANY auctions ending, not enough snipers...so now I split between Weds, Thursday and Sunday nights.

As more bidders use sniping programs or services, it won't make any difference.
Then ebay will become just like a sealed bid sale. Bids will be "opened" (sniped) one second before the end, and no one will have a chance for a second bid.

Friday bad, Saturday good. (Surprisingly.) I surmise there are many older folk who stay home Saturday nights. Heaven knows I do.
On the other hand, they might all be down at the Senior Center in a conga line.

For the past 3 yrs., I have been using 10 day auctions, starting on Thursday night @ 11:30. This gives me 2 full weekends. There have been discussions about this topic before & there are as many differences as there are sellers. I guess it is "whatever winds your clock." I like it & has worked for me. Someone once said it was ending too late for the east coast, but I have made many many sales in the EDT Zone, so I don't believe this is true. I think it matters as to what your selling.
