At least I found the lookers. I posted a Cabover Truck Camper on eBay Motors this morning. and It now has 100 plus hits. Item #
2421927250 . But no bids yet. Did I do something wrong in the listing or is it just that I am a newbe.

The average car gets thousands of hits yet they rarely sell unless the seller is giving the car away. The $40 listing fee is a lot but so is a classified ad in the paper. The 10 day duration is no extra dime ( what generosity )

And the LAST time I screwed up, and put something in e bay motors I was also hit with a $40.00 final value fee and the thing sold for $150.00! $80.00!!!! ouch!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

I just put a motorcycle on.
Had 996 lookers in 36 hours.
Then it sold with BIN.
Cost $50.00 fine with me!

I sold a car on e-bay motors...I just listed it in Parts cars....No different fees there. You can skip the 40.00 charge that way.

It depends on the value of the vehicle and if you expect it to sell. There is a flat $40 final value fee on the vehicles catagory. If you sold a decent vehicle, the FVF could be a couple hundred if you put it in the parts, or much much more than that for something like the plane that Sanmar listed.

jackswebb,
It is a good idea to do an ebay preview on any ebay motors listing just to be safe. If you see a $40 listing fee then you can fix it.

Great advice Toasted! We finally broke down ( not literally LOL! ) and bought a new used car...another Subaru...it still runs pretty good, but I did'nt want to take a chance on getting stuck anywhere. The clunker has been sitting in the driveway for a month and I have been wondering what to do with it...you just solved that dilemma!

The car I sold was a 1989 ford probe...it ran great and drove forward lol but no reverse...I figured the local junk man would only give me 50.00 for it ...so I put it junk cars on e-bay for 250.00...it cost 4 or 5 dollars to list it and final value was 11 or 12 dollars.I see a huge amount of running cars in Junk cars.A lot of the ads say runs great but couldn't afford listing fees at e-bay motors....
Like jackswebb said a 80.00 fee for 150.00 ...way to high !
E-bay should really re-think the listing fees for cars over 10 years old....They in the minds of some people are junk at that point. To me they are the right price
WAY TO GO on the new car Inot !!

I dunno, the FVF of a $3,000 car would be $56.81 ( plus the listing fee ) in the parts area and $40 total fees in the car area no matter the price. So a $2,500 or over is better off in the legit area.

Closing Value Final Value Fee
$0 - $25 5.25% of the closing value
$25 - $1,000 5.25% of the initial $25 ($1.31),
plus 2.75% of the remaining closing value balance ($25.01 to $1,000)
Over $1,000 5.25% of the initial $25 ($1.31),
plus 2.75% of the initial $25 - $1000 ($26.81),
plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance ($1000.01 - closing value)

dadofstickboy - do you regularly sell motorcycle stuff? If so, what kind? I'm slowly building my Harley and am always looking for parts.
