They are getting bolder in what they ask for and the look of the e-mail was pretty good.

Damn - now that one is bold! Doesn't just ask for your CC Security code but even wants your ATM Pin. That's where these guys blow it - they ask for too much info.

I feel sorry for the sellers (maybe buyers too, I don't know if they get them) who fall for these "spoofs". There are many sellers out there who were never really computer/internet people and they have learned what they need to sell on ebay and not much more.

I have gotten these on and off, and have always sent the warning to my friends who sell, who might not know what to do. I have had at least one person to get this one and ask me what to do.

They always send them to an address that I don't use with ebay anymore, so I guess it is old info, at least.

WOW!! It's hard to believe, but there are probably a few uninformed sellers who will actually be frightened into responding to that. About the only thing they left out of this one were questions about your sex life.

Being married I could have left any questions about sex blank.

WOW!
I really hope no one falls for that one... that would allow them to clean out your bank account as well as many other things...

These people need to be shot... plain and simple.

I wonder how much all of these spoof emails cost ebay in terms of manpower resources and associated costs? Gotta be a fair sized chunk.

Wow! That one is bold! My recommendation to all - change all of your passwords! After receiving several spam emails last week & forwarding them to Safe Harbor, someone was able to guess my password. No I did not complete any of their fake forms! All of my auctions were canceled. (That's another story - you can check my posts from last week)

But in my emails to Safe Harbor & eBay, I included my phone number. Ebay actually called my house (can you believe that!) to tell me that someone stole my password & to change it ASAP.

So please protect yourself & change your passwords.

In every legitimate email eBay sends, they tell you they will never ask for this information in an email.

Did that Neglus. Thanks!
Has anyone else been getting annoying pop-ups about a file download since getting this email? Something like sa.payment....(I cannot remember the rest). I cancel them & they just keep coming back everytime I sign onto ebay or vendio. I ran my virus software & re-booted. Still comes back. Thanks!

Only reason I mentioned it, Sue ,was that you said that you sent yourss to "spam" @ebay.com and not "spoof".

I got an annoying pop up the other day about installing some program i did not download (I sure hope the kids didn't download it)...I ran "spybot" and removed all those nasty spies , rebooted and it went away.

Spybot is a free program - you can't get it at spybot.com though..find it through google...i will edit this comment to put a link in later - right now I have to finish my am coffee ( FIRST CUP) and fix a mistake in an auction....
