someone sent me an email

Subj: sa-beno kenn

Body of message: Does it ship to Japan?
This is a wish.

It wasn't in a 'Question to Seller' subject line format like I'm used to [which would give an item number], but after i scratched my head and replied, "no. so sorry." I got to thinking maybe it was a question about an item in my vendio store! ... heck, if i have a sa-beno kenn sitting in there priced at boucou bucks, then sure i'd ship that far.

i already tried dictionary.com's translator of Japanese to English, and it told me
sa-beno kenn = sa-beno kenn .... aarrghh!

Why not email them back and ask them?

LOL... i did that too, but thought maybe someone here would come up with it first ...

I rewrote to them last night, what is 'sa-beno kenn'? we do not understand." and this morning their reply is, "-- is iIs transportation only a usa country?"

Now I've asked him, "What item is it you want to buy?" ...

this isn't working very well; broken English vs. broken Japanese .... oh well.

Do have anything that even "sounds" like that? This is too funny.

Might be the sender's name: Ken Sabeno. Family names comes first in Japan, followed by surname.

You can write back by saying..

Konnichi wa, genki?

EMAIL o arigatou. Demo, "sa-beno ken' ga wakarimasen. Sore wa nan desu ka?

Ja, henji o kudasai. Genki de, mata ne!

petpost basically said "Hello. I don't understand what 'sa-beno kenn' means."

It's safe to send it- you won't have to marry the guy or anything.

I have sold to many Japanese, the very best customers in the world. One way or another the messages get through both ways. But sometimes it goes like this. This is one of my favorites I received last winter after selling to Japan. I still haven't quite figured it out but I truly think he means he loves the Noritake porcelain he got?

Hello, Kiara

Thanks for your business!!
I have recieved this item.
I am happy to meet my lover!!
If you get the noritake deco lady,
(plate,fugure etc)please inform me.
Thanks!!

And then he signed his name.

I smile each time I read this one.
