Does anyone else find their billing or invoicing methods to be cumbersome and totally annoying to verify?

I have never seen a company post an invoice, you pay it and they dont zero out your account as paid to that point. Most you pay a bill then your balance is zero, then you start over with the purchases (listings) added. The way ebay does it, makes it hard to figure out where they end and start with their running account balances.

I cant stand how they do this! I think they should also allow some description field as well, not just item numbers!

Your billing cycle ends the same time every month. However, they don't take the money for two or three more weeks. My cycle ends on the 15th and they don't usually remove the money from my account until the 5th. If you go into your account, you will see when your billing cycle ends. They don't remove the amount from your total until they actually get your money from you.

I think for many sellers it's a great system. You are informed of how much your bill is and the due date. Te delay between the closing date and the collection date allows time for you to recieve payment for the items sold during that payment period.

The one thing I do wish ebay would do is put the title of the auction item on the billing page. When I'm selling for family or friends and trying to figure out the total fees, trying to find that by item # is very bulky and laborious. VERY. Wish we could start an e-mail campaign asking them to do that. Shouldn't be very tough for ebay to do.

The title of the auction with it's number would be a big help.
The other day I looked at my bank statement and there was a non-check debit for $89.90 with a bunch of zeros after it in the identy code area. I was curious as to who the debit was for and called the 800 number at the bank and they didn't know but that they investigate the debit. Two days later they called and said it was ebay. There was no ebay notation on the record. I don't know if it was ebay's oversight to add the code or my bank.

The fact that some of the posters on these boards even bother to sell on ebay shocks me at times. I mean my god, you actually have to TYPE YOUR OWN DESCRIPTIONS, you have to make out deposit forms, or click buttons all by yourselves to do bank transfers. My god man - how do you stand it?

I've never met a group of people more deseperate to do business and yet more unwilling to do anything for themselves. Check out some of the recent threads. They don't zero my account out, I'm confused, ebay should change this. They don't tell me the bidders zipcode of everyone who bids on my item, ebay should change, they don't give me the feedback of a BIN customer, ebay should change.

Get real people. Ebay is a portal it is not a business management system. You pay 30 cents to access the largest single marketplace in the world and you have the nerve to complain that they don't hold your hands the entire time. It's really kind of pathetic.

Jack - I started a new Vendio account a couple weeks ago, I had a different one. I've sold on ebay on and off for 6 to 7 years, I started and built a mail order/ecommerce buiness appealing to an extreme niche audience that was grossing well over 1 million a year selling items that ranged from a low of $5 to a high of $20 each. I was selling 10,000 items every few months so don't try to flaunt your feedback, it' doesn't impress me. It has zero reflection on business skills, all it means is that you successfully close auctions, not that you run a successful business.

I used .30 because it is the low starting point and what the majority of items on each list at.

fenix,
I dont think what I am, or any of the posters are asking, is too much, or pathetic. To identifify a description along with the item number in your bill is common business practice. (Could you imagine getting any other bill with just numbers on it and no description??) And Yes, I'd like to see my account as paid and zero'ed out and the next billing cycle started at a zero balance. I do understand they bill on the 15th and dont actually charge it out until the end of the month. That IS confusing; I dont care what you say. Its like any other creditor doing your statements like we billed you on the 15th, but didnt get our money until the 23rd, so in the meantime you acquired 20 more debits to your account so youre still at a negative balance. Who friggin does that?? NOBODY!!

And Jack is right, for people who list volume's of items, you almost have to trust it is being applied correctly. No matter how good the system is, mistakes often get made in billing. Not to mention all the NPB credits you have to check for.

They can do better. But like everything on EBAY, it seems designed to keep you working at it instead of ease for the user.
