For the past few days I'm having a hell of a time with the back button on the browser (IE6) and myFeebay. When I back up from a listing to the favorite searches page, my back button acts like it's been jammed - like some websites do with java scripts to prevent you from backing out.

In Opera it's OK, but I can't stand the way Opera renders ebay's pages, regardless of font settings. Anyone else experiencing this?

You know what else is happening, and I think this is the root cause. There's a double-loading of something between the page-back operations. I have the audible click turned on whenever a page navigation starts, and I hear a double click occuring when only a single one used to be heard.

Conclusion? Ebay added something in between and that's totally screwing up things big time.

I though it was related to my upgarde to java 1.4_04 but after disabling it, same story.

Rats! This is a huge annoyance if you like to check out many favorite searches quickly.

Looks like yet another feebay improvement. >

While we're, ahem, enhancing MyFeebay, let's fix this little gem that appears when I try to delete "Items I didn't win" etc;

We're sorry. You may have entered an incorrect User ID or password. If you tried to access this page using a bookmark, you may need to re-enter your User ID and password at the main My eBay page and re-bookmark.

A bookmark? Hey programmers, it's not a bookmark it's your own damn webpage you morons! Give me a physical break.

Hi:

Your back button is 'stuck' because the eBay 'recently viewed' items are cycling through. To stop this, go to my preferences in eBay and change the recently viewed option to NO. Best regards.

Doesn't work for me~~

I've posted and reposted over at Ebay Community about this.

I don't know whether it's just a cookie that ebay puts on your computer or what, but since I frequently clear my cookies, I have to look at my last three views quite frequently.

And yes, I have clicked and clicked that danged button to turn it off....and off....and off.

I've even gone to My Preferences and clicked all of THOSE buttons.

It works, but only temporarily...and then they're back. Again and again.

Could it be that IPIX Iplex can'tplex Media or whatever it is that my cookie defender keeps blocking? Although that's been happening for the last month or two and hasn't affected it.

Must be isolated cases and maybe unique browswer or OS software problems or else it would be reported much more on these boards.

Hi all,

It's been happening to me, too. On ordinary search pages, not "special" ones. (I don't have any of those...)

Thanks for the tip on changing the preferences. Hopefully that will do the trick!

pyourdon -

that worked great! Now - if it stays that way. I've had way too many of these here today, gone tomorrow, back the next day type problems to get excited, but for now at least it works.

Much appreciated; what a royal pain that was.

And a big raspberry to any website designer who knowingly jams my back button! At least now in the later IE's (5.5, 6.x) you can hit the dropdown history and bypass the last page accessed, but it's still a pathetic style of web page authoring.

There was a rather smug female over at the Ebay community boards that said she erased her cookies and it didn't show up on her anymore.

However...there are cookies and then there are cookies. I run Window Washer and Spybot Search and Destroy and then shut down and restart my computer at least once a day. That is the only "real" way to get rid of some of the cookies. That's why I think mine might show back up versus hers not showing up.

If you've ever seen what Window Washer and Spybot can find on your computer versus you manually cleaning your cookies, I think most people are/would be surprised.
