I received this this morning:
"Hi
My name is Melanie. I have been noticing that you have been selling some great looking xxxx. I have been thinking about selling on E bay but I am not sure of where to start. I may also consider selling in a boutique I am thinking of opening up locally. I am not totally sure yet of what I want to do so I am doing a little researching. I was wondering if you could tell me where you buy your xxxx from and are they hard to come buy. Is it expensive and do you buy them in large quantities? Is it hard to sell on E bay? Any help would or advice would be appreciated.

Nothing much at first glance..I get these occasionally and usually reply with something akin to utter silence.
However, I did check the sender as this came from/through eBay's "Ask the Seller" protocol and as such the sender's eBay name was right there.
Turns out "Melanie" is a Platinum Powerseller. Over 4500 FB's..yadda, yadda.
You can't imagine my joy upon hearing of your determination to start your own business!
What a plucky little gal you are!
Of course, I will be more than happy to reveal everything about my business in order for you to succeed in yours.
Why, who knows, with a little luck you might "grow up" to be a PLATINUM SELLER on eBay!
Imagine that! Plucky 'lil Melanie all growed up and sellin' so much stuff she's all the ways to PLATINUM!!!
Then when you're all successful on eBay and need additional things to sell, I'll be more than happy to teach you how to cleverly disguise yourself so you can ask other successful sellers on eBay how and from whom they get their stuff.....
Shoot..before long you won't have to lift a finger....I'll even show you how to disguise e-mail headers and points of origin & routing so that no one will know who you are...Trust me, it's a snap!

Obviously, a VERY STUPID platinum power seller. So stupid they can't figure out how to get a second ebay ID...I have gotten these, I ignore but I would probably reply in a similar fashion if this happened to me.
