There's always lots of illegal items on ebay though. Remember, it's just a venue.

They are not illegal until they are turned in. Been selling some "illegal" thing for 3 years. Not until a customer bought one from me did'nt like it,,,,,relisted MINE on his auction and turned ME in was it illegal. Well, now it 's illegal for HIM to resell it too! OR any of the other auctions he has been running for the past year related to the "illegal" item. I sold it for fun,,,,He sold it for a LIVING!!!!!!! A real idiot!

To kinda clear it up,,,for $1.99, he thought I was stupid. He assumed it was something he could re sell for an easy $200.00...hahahaha...

All the knives that one seller has listed meet ebay's requirements. Do you know the difference between centimeters and inches?

If they are true switchblades or spring blade knives, blade length doesn't matter. They can be bought & owned as a collectors items but you better not get caught carrying one in public.

LOL, They are from Georgia, not CA... so why would they care what California's laws are?

ebay states that the listings must comply with California law which is 2 inches. The auctions state the
blades are 5 centimeters which is 2 inches.

Either JW thinks 5 centimeters is 5 inches or this is a competitor she wants to harm.

Twelve - I believe it has something to do with the sale going thru a California portal. If you read the Travel section, travel sellers have to have a California permit.

I recently had occasion to check the law on switchblades in California and was surprised to learn that they are legal if the blades are two inches or less in length. Anything over that is a felony.

I own a couple of the knives being advertised... make neat letter openers and converstation starters...

However, mine are not 2" and those in those ads are not 2" so the seller is either misleading with the pics or is lying in the ad.

Twelvepole, you don't mean there are less than honest sellers on ebay!?

One of those ads has a knife I own with a six inch blade and
they list it at 2 inches. As long as the auction says 2 inches, ebay
does not care.
