On my current ones, I'm getting way more hits than I did all summer, but only one has a bid so far. Of course, these are low-end things I'm just getting rid of and I don't expect them to do really well. Would like them to sell, though!

Ebay's been down for so long, all over, and that could have affected bids in the last day.

we had a terrible [slow/low sales] in july, but august has been incredibly good to us with ebay bids [don't know why, 'cuz last year july/august were both lousy months for sales] ...

The current ebay is a buyers dream. We have bought some GREAT deals during the summer, and will list them over the winter. One thing killing sellers is the over saturation of the categories. The more of the same item listed the less it brings. Great deals out there folks if you have the cash to invest. We have almost enough inventory for our mall store this holiday season.

Ace, it's a good thing you've got that positive outlook going for you - otherwise, we'd have to put you on suicide watch and take away your shoelaces and anything sharp.

Going into my 8th year on eBay, this August seems about normal to me, always slow when school starts, with those expenses, and then the Labor Day holiday, and then things start picking up again.

Actually, we went on our annual buying trip from Aug. 8 through the 19th, and closed all of our eBay auctions, just left the store open.

BUT, we have 4 web sites and they did fantastic while we were gone during early/mid August.

It is just the school openings then Labor Day, and then buying picks up.

Hang in there, and get some things done that you won't or shouldn't have time to do when buying gets heavy. Presently, we are re-photographing some items, re-naming others, getting new product in, doing tight inventories........we all need a break to do some catch up - take advantage of it.

4 web sites, jw???!! Gawd! I am just now considering one!! :-0

Is there really that much internet commerce?

If business is that good, you would think people never leave home to shop anymore!? (No wonder walmart, sears and all of them are making the big push toward e-commerce!)
