Okay, I have never sniped an auction per se, but have a question.
Until what point in time can you bid on an auction? I just saw something I wanted and it said 4 minutes left. When I opened the auction, it said bidding has ended. ?
I always thought you could bid right up to the last minute? In fact, i think i remember doing that once or twice.???

I believe what you experienced was the delay in refreshing the status from the actual listing to the search page. I've seen that in the past where I thought the price was pretty good, clicked in only to find the price was up significantly and there were 2-3 more bids than what showed on the search page listing.
I don't know this for sure, but it is logical that this is what happened.

Lately I have found a couple of auctions that show "ended" but really are not. If you click on refresh it will revert back to the actual time left. It is similar to when you click on your See Sellers other Items and it says None when there are many actually running.

Oh thanks! I did not think of that to refresh. Went all over the place thinking my computer is not synchronized with standard ebay time. ha -)
