I had the same thing Jack. Newbie that took the time to read about Square Trade. Ebay makes Square Trade sound like it will cure any possible problem at ebay.

I think they read this page and look for loopholes.

Hang in there Jack!

Hi Jack,
I just paid Square Trade 10 bucks to have a neg removed. The fairly new buyer refused insurance then gave me a neg when Post Office broke her 16 dollar dish. The dish was packed very well. The gorillas at the Post Office must have used this package as a basketball. So tell me why I paid the 10 bucks and not the cheap nasty buyer. But you all know ebay's system its always the sellers who pay and pay and pay.

"Complete SquareTrade's secure and confidential complaint form. Check box that you want feedback removed, and identify any other issues remaining to resolve the dispute. Pay $20 fee for SquareTrade dispute resolution services. SquareTrade automatically sends email notifications to the other party seeking their response."

The SHOCK of the DREADED SQUARE TRADE has worn off,,,,I simply clicked,I will deal directly with the customer,,,your $20.00 scam won't work here.

I just this moment thanked the buyer for his purchase and rementioned that the very first words out of my mouth were,,,WARNING! WARNING! READ THE ENTIRE DESCRITION, IF YOU DON'T AND BUY IT, YOU OWN IT!

Well,,,,,,,,fair WARNING WAS given. I have no guilt in my mind.

You may be right,,,some people here give entirly TOOOOOOOOOO much information. Real sellers already know the routes and to post them here is almost like personal suicide. and taking down MANY others with them. Tying US to thier body and jumping off the golden Gate bridge.

Plainly I have seen it time after time, makes me wonder if they are simply trolls or real e bay sellers. I think they are NOT sellers.

Do they charge the buyer and the seller for the mediation?

If not, they should. Very unfair to put it all on the seller.

Jack,
Thrill bidding can be therapy to some people. Just think of a poor bored person trapped in his house in New Hampshire during a blinding snow storm. Cable tv is out and he's read every magazine and paper in the house and about to climb the wall when he suddenly gets a bright idea. He registers on Ebay and proceeds to bid on 350+ auctions in 5 days (one of which was mine) and wins most of them, again, one of which was mine. The storm subsides, the snow plows clear the streets and he is suddenly free to get outside and never respond to a single wbn. Over 350 sellers have to wait out the 20 days and inundate Ebay with tons of work with the FVF reversals, but at least the bidder retained his sanity. A firing squad offense if I ever saw one.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Well, the good thing is that you had your WARNING WARNING WILL ROBINSON (lol..) disclaimer in your auction. Sounds like an AS-IS to me. - Done deal!

It says 85% of Cases Settled without mediation -- free

The bidder may get any negative feedback removed by you for taking the few minutes to file a claim. Free. Because you didn't resolve the situation. That's why they file a Square Trade complaint.

If I understand this from all the gibberish...

The bidder asked no questions before bidding and winning?

Now they don't like the item and want to return it?

I agree, too bad... you bid, you won and now you own it.

However if the paid through paypal and used a CC you are set up for a chargeback.

If you get a mystery crate better be looking at your paypal account, probably see a chargeback on it.

I'm talking from expierence. Square Trade removed a retailatory negative against my buyer. The buyer NEVER communicated with me and only through Square Trade once. The buyer must have blocked all hotmail.com addresses as I never got a reply from the guy to any emails.
The key may be to NOT reply to the Square Trade offer to resolve the matter and force the person to pony up $20 to them and ignore the Square Trade emails.

$20 is cheap to have a legitimate neg removed from you account.

No wonder bidders like using it. If the bidder has their neg removed, does the sellers neg get removed also?

Nope. Unless they pay $20 and the buyer signs off on the deal.
