Here's another item I received. This woman is a darling friend, I'd say. Anyway, I know it's Limoges because it's marked. But there is another signature on the back and I have no clue who it is or what it is. The platter is 12" x 10". Any age ideas? Or, what the other mark may be. Sorry about the poor 2nd photo. Had to make adjustments to make the mark show clearer. There is also the Limoges mark under the glaze in the porcelain. Limoges AL France with an anchor.

In the late 1800's early 1900's people would purchase Limoges blanks, and paint them to suit their tastes. As a result, there are many signatures added to limoges items.
I recently sold a 3 piece coffee service that was signed and dated by an amateur for $1,300.00.
Other pieces might not bring $10.00. Depends on the artwork and provenance.

Max is correct. This was a big thing in the early 1900's. Women would hold classes with instructer artists. There is a whole lot of it out there, but most is not worth much.

This piece looks beautifully done, it may bring decent dollars. Whoever painted it lived in Elkhart, Indiana, as you probably know.
