It's "ask the experts" time, and I think these will be pretty easy for you. Is there a way to get Endicia (or Dazzle) to automatically email the buyers with the tracking number? I saw a place in the log where I can highlight their name, click email, and then fill in their email address and the item number. Is that the only way?

Second even dumber question. Is 1lb 4oz the same as the 2lb rate? Do you round up? So 1lb 15oz is also 2lb, 3lb 1oz would be 4lb, etc. Sorry, just not used to this yet

Edited to add - what do you do about insurance? Just click the insurance option and let the post office know when you drop it off?

I believe that option is only available to the premium users.

Exactly.

I did sign up for the premium service (I think). At least I am printing labels out in the Stealth mode, so I think I have the premium service.

INSURANCE & ENDICIA:

1) USE USPS INS: you MUST present at PO counter!

/OR/

2) USE UPIC INSURANCE: avoid the PO!

USPS RATES are "up to,but not over"...eg: 1lb/4oz is shipped at the 2lbs rate, etc!

You have to set-UP your email template first, then DAZZLE will auto-fill, but they are not automatically sent:

Customizable Email Options

From the Postage Log, you can send package notification emails to the recipient. On this tab, you can customize the e-mail template and specify a subject line.

Click the Edit button to edit the template (usually 'email.txt' in your DAZzle directory). There are items in angle brackets (<> that are "tags" that are dynamically replaced by DAZzle when it creates the e-mail. You can use any or all of the tags. The following tags are currently supported:

Declared Value: <DeclaredValue>
Destination (recipients) Address: <DestinationAddress>

Destination Email Address: <DestinationEmail>
GroupCode: <GroupCode>
Optional Postage Services (e.g., Delivery Confirmation, Registered Mail, etc.): <OptionalServices>

Package Description: <PackageDescription>
Weight of item: <PackageWeight>
Postage Amount: <PostageValue>

Postmark Date:<PostmarkDate>

Reference ID: <ReferenceID>
Sender Name: <SenderName>
Sender Company Name: <SenderCompany>

Sender Phone: <SenderPhone>
Postage Class (e.g. Priority Mail, First Class): <ServiceClass>

Tracking Number for Delivery Confirmation or Express Mail: <TrackingInformation>

IMPORTANT: You MUST leave the --NOTE-- section at the bottom of the 'email.txt' file. If we find that you have removed this section we will disable the Premium features on the account.

Thanks tomwii - I read that in the help section, but couldn't find the area to customaize. I found it! For some reason it finally "clicked" where it was. I mostly wanted to add in what it was for and the ebay number. Otherwise the whole email seems a little useless since they don't know what you're sending a tracking number for....

IF Endicia “DAZZLE” does it "automatically" I am not aware of that, [b]BUT[/]b IF you are a premium user, you can send an e-mail to your buyers that their package is on its way, by going to POSTAL LOG, clicking, and then highlighting the person you wish to notify, and clicking the e-mail button, and send.

YOU do need to set up your letter, if you want to send more than the very simple Endicia notice which comes with the system. We personally, use one we have customized.

IF you remove the Endicia "ad" at the bottom of the notice, in time your system will fail, they require that you leave the Endicia ad go with all notices.

I love it, it keeps customers notified, and not writing me e-mails.
