Hello Just sent the below to Pay Pal as another buyer got by me and thinks I am a liar and a cheat.

Hello
I thought you should know that I am getting fed up with Pay Pal NOT sending E-mails when a buyer pays.

This never used to be a problem. Buyer pays; Pay Pal sends me an e-mail. I respond with appropriate action. Now days about one in 30 payments I get NO e-mail. Pay Pals old response used to be "You cannot depend upon e-mails". If I have to research my own account then get rid of the buyers Name, like I know who that is, and put in auction number. Yes I know I can find that by drilling down a couple of layers. Ever try that with a hundred payments? Good luck.

I am not a crank but you all work for ME so fix it as we are getting tired of the non-e-mails and the embarrassment and seller credibility damage that results.

FIX IT

Not so kind regards,
David

Good for you, Dave. It's never happened to me, but I'm sure it's happening to many others if you're experiencing this. I do wonder, though, if your e-mail from PayPal is being filtered out somehow as spam? Have you checked?

This was happening to me too. I discovered that my Norton Security was filtering out the P/P as spam. Once I cleared this up, I had no more problems.

Hello
No, I have not checked and am not sure how to check my ISP filters. (Mine are fine) That said if spam guards were the problem why one in thirty going into la la land?

Once again the seller who pays the bills must change their whole way of doing things because of others incompetence. In my case I must now check my ebay page or spend time opening files on Pay Pal.

This is the third time in two weeks I have looked like a liar and crook to buyers who paid and I did not know it.

As you can tell I am getting fed up with it.

I posted here as I am sure I am not alone.
Kind regards to all.

ebay has under System Announcements:

Date: 09/02/03 Time: 02:59:40 PM PDT

We are aware that some of PayPal's Winning Buyer Notification emails are being delayed or not sent at all.

We are working to correct the problem, and thank you for your patience.

Regards,
eBay

But I am having the same problem as you... i do not USE paypal's WBN, but since last friday, approximately 5 or 6 payments that have been made to us, we have NOT received an email notification of those payments ... and those emails are what we use to print out to expedite the orders.

Dave - got news for you buddy - PayPal does not work for you. Paypal is providing a service that you have subscribed to. If you are not happy with the service then get yourself a merchant account and control your own destiny.

Or did you think that PayPal has programmed their system to automatically delete every 30th email scheduled to be sent just to screw up your day?

fenix03: You mean we're not entitled to demand simple usability improvements to a service we pay for?

Fluffy - you don't think it's unreasonable to expect a website to have godlike control over a myriad of spam filters systems used by various ISPs?

I do.

I think that you should have a some type of system of checks and balances in place which would detect the difference in financial balance if nothing else. If the only way you keep track of your "hundreds" of sales (not yours Fluffy, the OP who stated that he cannot utilize the PayPal overview featues because it's too difficult to short thru the couple hundred payments) is by an email then you have much bigger problems looming than a tempramental spam filter.

Hi all,

I noticed maybe a week or so ago I wasn't getting notices from PayPal on any of my completed auctions. They were, though, showing up as Paid on my My eBay page.

Been thinking about writing eBay and/or PayPal about it but now that I've gotten used to it I kinda like it. One less place to look.

The only minor glitch is then I don't have an email to click to reply "Thanks for your speedy payment! I'll send your whatever-it-is right away."

Not a big deal either way.
