I think they mean the link to your AW store Tom - I think that's a no-no

There is NO link to my AW store!

There IS on my ME page, but THAT is allowed according to feeBay & VD!

I must have missed any link to a web store in the auction I looked at just now.

I have received that error meesage recently when I mentioned the phrase 'Yahoo auctions' and as soon as I removed the phrase the warning message disappeared.

The 'mystorecredit.com' shouldn't trigger the message I'd think.

You may be in violation of the 3 clickable links for non-ebay functions though but a large percentage of sellers often inadvertently violate that rule and ebay ignores the arcane rule.

We posted at the same time I guess.

Here's some info that may pretain to the warning message and your ebay About Me page

http://pages.ebay.com/services/aboutme/aboutme-rules.html

Sellers can use it to describe their business. With the exception of the Key Word Spamming Policy, generally those policies which apply to eBay auction pages also apply to our About Me pages.

I still don't see the Vendio Store link.

Here's the rules on third party links in auctions and about me pages

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-links-credits.html

some companies offer picture hosting, counters, listing software and payment facilitation services. In exchange for providing their service, some third party companies require or request that they receive "credit" or recognition for their service within the eBay listing. We will allow such credit within the following guidelines.
eBay will permit listings that contain a small, discrete identification or "credit" to third parties that provide services or products directly connected with the particular listing or that allow a seller to aggregate their eBay listings.

The credit may contain the following to identify or credit the company offering the product or service:

Text (HTML font size 3) and
A logo (88x33 pixels)
However, only one of these may be clickable

AA: On my "ME" page, I had a link to my VD store -- it is GONE now & I've dumped the store!

ALL the links on my auctions are compliant -- some on my ME page are a little big, but I doubt feeBay will care.

OTOH: I never had any sniffs from feeBay until:

1) I complained to them today about the fact that their Selling Manager has been FUBAR for past two days -- perhaps they got an insectoid suppository over my missive??

/or/

2) My plate auctions po'd someone here & they blubbered to feeBay

one time when i was doing up a listing, i referred to an informative ONLY website where they could learn more about the history of said genre ... but after typing in the website's address, and trying to set up to launch, that same message came up from ebay. ... i think they to an auto scan for anything.com and put that warning to make sure you're not trying to sell something off ebay's site

How are they compliant if you have so many of them when they allow only one clickable link?

I think there may be a few ebay programmers that make software that looks for stuff like that and the software is finding it and they are cracking down on third party advertizing on their site. Ebay is wringing out the sponge trying to leach every cent it can out of it's venue.

AuctionAce has the info above:

Text (HTML font size 3) and
A logo (88x33 pixels)
However, only one of these may be clickable

Not sure but it may be because you have the "View my sdGallery" logo twice? And you have a "SpareDollar Click Here" logo also? So that's three clickable logos for that service?

Three?

Clickable links I see in order:

Visit my sdgallery clickable link

View my sdgallery clickable logo

Fair Trader Scheme Member clickable logo

moneybrokers money orders clickable logos

UK auction help fair trader's clickable scheme clickable logo

BidPay clickable logo

PayingFast clickable logo

PayKo clickable logo

Endica clickable logo

BaconButtie clickable logo

May be an ebay record 10 non-ebay links.

Yes, three. Three for SpareDollar.

I think ebay means only one clickable logo per third party service. But you can promote several different services on one auction.

You are listing in a restricted catagory. If you list in certain catagories, you must the proper clearance for some. For some others, you need an approval. For others, your auction will need to have certain key words in order for the auction to be accepted.

If you were able to list, you met one of the specific cryteria set by ebay. If you didn't, it would have come up with an error message to that effect.

That happens to me only occasionally.
The only thing I list for links are pet friendly web links.
It does not happen every time. I have been ignoring it, and at first it scared the heck out of me!

When I read that Tom is closing his VD store, I nearly wet myself from laughing so hard.

By the way, Tom, GREAT for you on those plates!! I love it when someone gets a 'hit'!! WOOHOO!!!

Ralphie is sad that I closed his VD store, but understands the necessity -- he's considering a new career in CERAMICS SNIFFING anyhoo!

Tom

Maybe Ralphie would be happier if you didn't call it a VD store. Hee, hee. Sorry, Ralphie, couldn't resist. Not enough sleep. I'm suffering from an extreme case of insomnia right now. Nothing I've taken is helping at all. I resolved myself to getting little or no sleep. I suppose one day I'll just fall asleep sitting at the 'puter. A trip to London to visit my friend, Ciggy, might do the trick. Now, if I could only find the right family member to send me there.

Okay...I guess I still don't get it. If you can't link to anywhere that offers goods for sale outside of eBay on your About Me page, then how can it be you are allowed to link to your business or website from your About me page? Isn't it the norm to offer goods for sale on your business website? I don't understand???
